Oh well that has been always my favourite part in all Star Wars movies.
Vader without mask.
Here´s mine, I sculpted in 2003
Some lifesize Versions. Some in Silicone, some in resin.
I decided to make a hybrid Anakin sculpt with the front of the head portrait of "smiling to Luke"- Sebastian Shaw in the ROTJ back make up, the back of the head make up from ESB and the neck from David Prowse, that is long enough to be prepared to become an animatronic figure head for instance. Same with the mouth. Here we go:
And my 12 inch, I sculpted for my self-made Vader figure in 1998:
And finally my Anakin sculpt in the mask of the Vader I sculpted to become the Vader from my stop motion movie "Powerplay Of Forces". The Anakin´s shown on these images are the only ones I have. But he went throuh a nearly daily update modus.
I refined it over 9 years, started on the age of 13 . These Anakin´s you see show the second version I sculpted 1987and a later Version I sculpted 1990 when I was to 16 years old.

the detail and shaw likeness is great.
but is this really the only one?
those anyone have pics of the illusive head alone or other fanmade head. i know there is one on star wars helmets who made this own head. so they are out there

I brought it out of the Cellar for you to make these shots.
I really despite the all around look of it. It´s a nice head with nice deatils, but it isn´t Anakin at all in my eyes. I don´t know where to start explaining where it all lacks. So I better stop before I start.

With a good paintjob it could look pretty cool i think.

I don´t think so. Not to me. To me this one is so wrong. And much too big and high as well.
I don´t want to judge what others should have to think. I know there are people out there who think this one is all right.
It´s okay if they are happy with it. I know most Vaderfans do like the expression he has. They prefer a non smiling Anakin face.

I never think and said that this look all right. I'm knowing very well whats wrong on that bust and that its not perfect, but i also think it could look cool with a really good paintjob

I think the bust itself looks very good, but sadly not like S. Shaw.

You are right. Well I´ve seen a lot of them painted and slightly althered.
I have collected those pics. But don´t know if I can share them here on the board. I don´t think it is that allowed?

I would have loved to see a perfect Shaw in correct make up.

I don't know who sculpted this...and I don't care - but THAT (SS version) is nothing like Shaw to me... Its a sin that this should have beeen passed and suggests they don't know their subject here or are properly tapped into the character. They need to get a new sculptor onboard

I like the new bust, granted it doesn't look like Shaw, but i like the idealised aspect of it.

OK i'll go against the grain, I think the SSC vader is actually pretty damn nice. I have a couple a ways of thinking on the SSC bust. First, i have not been able to find any pics of Shaw mad or pissed so it's hard to know what he would look like as a mean man, i mean Vader mean. He's either got a gay grin, indifferent look or he looks like the biggest puppy dog. The closest i can find is this old pic which doesn't really look like vader either.
Also what we see on screen is him laying on the ground probably with his chest armour being pushed upwards into his face and he is leaning forward to look at his son with his own eyes. I would bet it would look totally different if he was standing straight and tall and mean like vader would be.
Second and really a big problem i had with ROTJ when it came out is after watching all the Star wars and seeing how Bad ass Vader is they remove the helmet and we see this guy
What a joke. If someone were to yank off vaders helmet in the middle of ESB i'm sure he would closer to this
Although it might not look exactly like shaw in the ROTJ it sure as hell looks to me like vader in his glory days . Take the first pic i posted add 20 years and pounds and give him the vader attitude and i think SSC did great. To be honest i don't know if i want a perfect looking smilling vader bust. Just doesn't seem right unless you love that particular scene or like a pussafied Vader.

Yeah, but shouldn't a Vader reveal in full-on Vader mode have Sith Eyes?
I know, it's a can or worms, but I'd have to think that in the 20 years since he was put in that Tin Can - Anakin/Vader would have to be pissed enough to "go-Sith" with the eyes.
I think the SS Looks pretty good - a more ESB reveal than end of ROTJ.
