An easy question

I am trying to file down the eye sockets of an ABS stormtrooper helmet I have. I have heard "horror" stories of using dremels to file down parts. So I am wondering, what do most people use to to file down ABS parts? Fine sandpaper? Anything else?

Thanks.

Well, I think it depends on the tool bit you use. If you use one of those all material diamond cross cut bit, then, yes, it has a tendency to go off on it's own sometimes. You could probably get a good chunk out of the center, but I wouldn't try to get it all with just one kind of bit.

You could probably safely use a small drum sander bit with medium grit to get close to the edge, and touch the rest up with some sandpaper to smooth out bumps, or even an emery board.
