Amazon's BLADE RUNNER 2099 Series

Do androids still dream of electric sheep?
I think and I could be wrong, of course, that the phrase is a metaphor for what it is to be...conscient. Replicants have a "Implanted Memory" of someone that once was (more human than humans). Maybe, as we have seen in BR2049, the future Replicants will have that "Base Implanted Memory" serving as a diving board, if you will, to go further into knowing who they are. And since they deny the fact that they are artificial beings (Rachael spider's story to Deckard is an example) why would they dream about electric sheep?

The electric sheep title has little to do with Blade Runner and everything to do with the novel version Deckard.

Deckard of the film has no real motivation in his life and is moved by the inertia of his assignment. If protagonists drove stories, Blade Runner was going nowhere without a shove.

Yeah the Deckard of the novel and of the movie are very different characters. The new series will have nothing to do with either.

Female Blade Runner.
Thrashes anyone who dares to say "skinjob."
No moral dilemmas.
Ends up rescuing (ethnically diverse) replicants.
Kills the (male) Blade Runners who try to stop her.
Overthrows Wallace Corp.
Has Jared Leto in it.

Not definitive casting, but the current rumor is Jodie Comer in the lead. I've liked what I've seen of her work so far.

My first prediction has come to pass. Check.

I want to be excited, but seeing what TV has done to popular IP's over the last decade makes me deeply concerned. I am honestly going to wait for reviews (from Blade Runner fans) on this. I'm not sure I can take another beloved IP augmented for 'modern audiences'.

She'll play a replicant near the end of her life...

Yes! Ryan Reynolds would be so much more believable than that other wimpy Ryan as a Blade Runner.

He should play Batman too!

Even better, Batman AND Superman in a dual role in the same film! Since Martha is their mother.

"Who are you?!"
"I'm Batman!"
"Really? You?"
" Yes. Why can't I be Batman? I'm wearing the costume."
" Yeah, but..."
" You're just going to trust me on this. I'm really Batman ".
" You're more like a whiny Green Lantern "
" Okay, now I have to kill you."

The resumés of the crew look very solid. I'm confident in the project, at least at this point.

Edit:
A quick aside - I came across this fan film on the IMDB, "BLADE RUNNER(S)". I find it well done overall, given its presumably minimal budget.

Did anyone know it existed?
