Amazing Spiderman Build (Taylor McManus)

Yay my first thread! Lolz.
This thread is for everyone scratching their heads on whose print to go with.
So I received a Taylor McManus & DamnGoodPaul print.
Both are DRAMATICALLY different from each other.
I am super jazzed to have Both of them.
Thanks you 2 in advance.

I will do just a little Pro/Con here.

Taylor's Pro: Gorgeous print. Detailed, bright, thick high quality lycra.
Also the palm pads look almost 3D to the touch. Beautiful.
Big points for quality.
Taylor's Con: Comes with a apparently ruthlessly difficult to make attached
mask. Rumors have it there is a hip problem but we shall see.
Overall I am scared to give this to a non-cosplayer for lack
of point of reference. Even if I printed out diagrams.
I think there were a few holidays going on between when I
ordered and when I received.

DamnGoodPaul's Pro: Did NOT take 3 months to receive. :facepalm
This suit looks incredible easy to sew considering
the MCL34N references. The suit is plain english. :D
The mask is detached and easy to sew (HUGE deal)
Receiving it under a month EXCELLENT. Worth the $$$.
This suit can be sewn quickly and I will start with it.
Having less stress in a seamstress is helping my brain.
DamnGoodPaul's Cons: Kinda runny looking compared to Taylor's.
There appears to be random yellow stains and wet
spots on the suit. Not a problem considering the puffy
paint. Also looks like (possibly printers) there is
Sharpee along some of the sides. Doesnt bother me
either way. Light shines through. Need me some
Spanx.

Summary: DamnGoodPaul advertises "Under Armor Material" and Taylor's is
actually thicker and more durable. I was expecting Paul's to be
heavier and its not. Taylor's FOD (Fabric on Demand) can print
some sweet files for dang skippy. I do not know where Paul gets
his from.
The biggest difference between is Color & Blue Honeycomb.
DamnGoodPaul's honeycomb is dramatically larger. Easier for me
puffy paint then! Taylor's honey comb is small and pristine.
Before everyone starts shouting "Paul's is too dark!" remember that
from the movie, leaked photos, and photo shoots there were so
many different suits. Flame wars started when everyone thought
the super bright 3D Suit was the final version. Spiderman slung
web at night in this movie so color doesnt really matter. Might
make it look a little more bad@ss and rubbery like your wearing a
freaking basketball.
I dont have a favorite. Taylor's is so pretty it doesnt need puffy.
Paul's arrived to me quickly and is practical to put together.
Also, Paul's mask comes separated and leaves it
up to the wearer to decide wether to attach or not.

I am not selling or trading either of these. They are both my new
favorite things. I feel very lucky to have each of them.
Thank you so much to DamnGoodPaul and TaylorMcManus. :)
Now...anyone know how to sew these things?

This first batch of pics are all DamnGoodPaul's.

Aaaand I was suppose to put this in the WIP Replica Movie Costumes.
Anyone know if I can just "move" it?

wow, there is a big difference. both look good regardless. pauls does look really dark though

Agreed^^But Pauls red looks good. I bet it will turn out good. How long did it take for the DGP suit from payment to recieved?

DamnGoodPaul money sent Aug. 17th, print received Sept. 7th.
In my opinion that's great. Especially when he responds to your emails.

hey mercy. Thanks for the good word. The "yellow and Wet" spots was caused by the steam press used on the heat press at my printer. The line you are talking about is just a shadow seam that your gonna have to cut anyways when cutting the pattern. I did not notice the spots on the actual wearable parts. Just saw it ont he white parts which people have to cut off anyways. My apologies on that.

My material (the underarmor) is lighter in thickness and weight than regular lycra. But more durable in wear and tear. If you do a stretch test on both, you will see that my material is made for high endurance and athletic use.

I hope the see the results on this.

Actually, after painting, I think DGP will look more movie accurate just because the suit isn't incredibly bright like Taylor's. his amount of detail is crazy though.

I agree with this. I can do stunts with DGPaul's prints. In my opinion, I think it is way more for a stunt suit. :thumbsup Hoping to have it sewn by nextweek. Nearly finished with the puffys except the red ones since the seller here ran out of stock.

If I may, I would also like to commend DGPaul for responding with the emails of his customers as fast as he could, and updating me as well (Yeah I've been emailing him for days regarding the suit as it was my first time doing an online transaction.) He is doing a great job keeping in touch with his customers. Sorry for the hijack Mercy. Just wanted to share. Anyway looking forward for the finished suits from both Paul's and Mcmanus' :thumbsup

Everything is awesome thank you.

I also wanted to clear the DGP's suits are Dark issue.
To be honest, some people think it is, some people think its perfect. Some people prefer darker.

The print itself without puff paint isnt photo friendly. And no pics do justice to the real deal. Everyone who owns my print will tell you its way better in real life.

But when people complain about darkness.. they also forget that they will be covering the suit with puff paint, which all the darkest areas will be the under shadows and muscle tone. A red to bright is too cartoony. You want it to feirce!

Needless to say, weather my honeycomb is too big or not big enough, my suit is the easiest to puff paint.

Agreed.
I will also add DGP's muscle shadding is awesome.
First muscle shaded dyu sub pattern for me. Looks great on the abs.
Again, the suit changes so many times. Some scenes it's a v-neck, some scenes it's a crew neck.

exactly.
I also wanted to clear out that i wasnt trying to make a strait on screen accurate suit. I did my best to make it as accurate as possible but without going to crazy. Im not trying to make a spiderman suit from a movie, im trying to make a REAL LIFE spiderman outfit for practical use. not that anyone here is a real super hero lol.

comfortwise against your skin, which suit did you like better? This baby will keep you cool when you heat up.

Comfort wise no idea just yet. From reading what you were saying about the stretch yours may be more breathable.
I need to go trolling in previous posts to see what people were saying about wearing under armor underneath to prevent skin being shown?
I could use a little squeeze by the gut.
In this regard of wearing something underneath DGP's may feel better.
My main concern right now is the giggle berries.
In the past in all my other suits I wear a cup but it makes me look like a Ken Doll. My #1 pet peeve of all time is dudes wearing suits and you can see the outline of their.....weakness?
Any suggestions?

You could always just cut it off :sick
