So Iʻm gonna buy the Amazing Spider-Man cosplay suit from Herostime off of ebay, and I had a few questions. Sorry if they're stupid questions I've never cosplayed a skin suit before lol.
What is puff painting? What's the point of it and does it make a difference?
What's a face shell or mask or whatever and is it necessary?
What's the point of having the eyes detachable? Do you have to cut out eye holes or something?

Welcome to the forum! Most of your questions would be answered if you used that search bar up top, but since you're new here...

What is puff painting? What's the point of it and does it make a difference?
Puffy paint is a special type of 3d paint that retains it's 3d-ness when it dries. It's basically used as the cheapest solution to make the weblines on the Spider-Man suit pop out even more. It helps make your suit look a lot closer to the real thing (or at least to the eyes of the average person). In my opinion, you SHOULD puffy paint your suit once it arrives so that it would look 100x better than it originally did.

What's a face shell or mask or whatever and is it necessary?
A face shell is a hard mask that you wear underneath the main mask of your suit. Straight to the point, you're better off with a face shell unless you want your nose squeezed in and lips bulging out the mask

What's the point of having the eyes detachable? Do you have to cut out eye holes or something?
Having detachable eyes on a face shell would help A LOT when you're attending cons. It could get real hot underneath a mask, especially with a face shell so having detachable eyes would lessen up the fogging issues on the lenses and this would let you catch your breath when it gets too hot. And yes, of course you need to cut out eye holes on both your mask and your face shell.

I hope I helped!

Hi if you're looking for a great Spiderman suit try a company called the RPC studio, they make great stuff, it's a little pricey but the suits are incredibly well made and durable

I'm going to piggyback this thread because I also have a Spider-man suit-related question.

I was able to obtain a pattern for dye sublimation printing and I want to separate the mask from the rest of the pattern. I can't seem to find a tutorial to do so. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!
