"It could be used as a club. Here, take this shorter cane...which could be used as a club." :rolleyes
I got the same quote from a TSA agent in Chicago when they found an antique cookie mold I was taking to my mother.
TSA" We have take the cookie thingie cause it is heavy and can be used as a club!"
Me "Really?"
TSA "It's the rules...you should have checked!!!"
Me " I did and the airline and your supervisor both cleared it!"...they did because I asked as I checked in if I needed to check it.
TSA " Sir I'm taking the cookie doodad! It is a weapon!"
Me "Call Mark the supervisor and tell him the guy with the cookie mold is about to hurt you and ask him to come here."
Mark shows up and he and 3 other TSA agents argue over what a "weapon" is, the airline supervisor who cleared the mold points out that a laptop is larger and heaver than the mold and you could hit someone with it!
TSA agents all stop and stare at the airline person then explain that no one would hit some one with a laptop due to the cost of replacement.
Airline person then asks why a person who is going to hijack a plane would be worried about replacing a laptop if it is damaged.
As the TSA agents all stand there with a look of surprise Mark and the airline guy take the cookie mold and walk me and it to the plane where they give it to the Captain who locks it in the cockpit for the flight.
I felt sorry for the next few folks that had laptops that ran into the 3 idiots.
