I did not get to enter the A-kon contest, or wear it on the floor. My hotel room was not ready when I arrived, and the nearest parking spot was a mile away. So I missed all of the contest.

I was going to wear it Sunday,and put it on for the first time in my hotel room. It is a monster to wear! I walked up 24 flights of stairs the day before to get to my room, because I did not wont to wait in line for an elevator. That choice left me super sour when I awoke Sunday. I also could not afford any food. So I did not eat XD! So moving the build was a pain because I lacked the strength to wear it.

With the thousands at the con I would not be able to move once I got the costume in public. I would be a statue as people took pictures. The build is so heavy adjustments must be made before displaying it in public.

So I will wear it for S.G.C. (Screwattack Gaming Confrennce) in a few days. Smaller crowd, and cash prizes. Should give me enough time to make modifications for comfort, train my body, and mind to wear this thing.
I will have the test photos from my hotel room up soon.

It really looks incredibly scary - in a good way! This is like how I pictured Ganon as a kid and I would freak myself out looking at the game concept art (I also used to watch the cartoon, which now of course seems goofy but I thought that pig face was scary as ****). I know what it's like to break your back working on something and then show up and have several things go wrong (you pretty much described every experience I had with DragonCon). I just decided for myself that I probably won't ever enter contests or really plan to do convention events while wearing something so hard to move around in. It's a challenge to show off your work, but also feel like you're having enough fun to make paying for a hotel room/trip worthwhile when you're blind, hot, and suffering in a costume.

Don't forget you can always get someone handy with a camera and take really good pictures of it - I'm imagining all kind of theatrical lighting here - and even if your convention memories are being super grumpy in a heavy costume, at least you have a photoshoot to admire.

Knowing this costume exists makes my day!

Yeah, it does remind me a bit of that monster from Jim Henson's Lybrith. I did not see the resemblance at first, but it is a good thing.

When he went on stage the second time he feel over. I thought it was because of the steps onto the stage.
It was because he was blind, deaf, and one of the screws I used to keep the Nikes on the buckets popped out and jabbed his foot!
I did not know until we got to the room.
He still took pictures with all the fans on the way back to the hotel room even though he was in pain.He was a trooper.


Since the costume is done, now I can spend my spare time editing all the documented footage, and pictures.

I call this naked Ganon texting.

Dont worry ; he lived. This is my brother back stage waiting for the contest to start.
This costume has a big advantage over my old Aeon Calcos Lizardman. It breaks down into sections. So you can take off part of the costume or the entire costume. After the two weeks of adjustments, the costume went on in 3 to 5 minutes.

Thank you! It was all thanks to the knowledge I have gotten watching people making things on the RPF.

Deathgrey I do plan on making a TMNT costume someday. I am planning on having one for the release of the next motion picture.
I just have to get space, and money for these costumes.
They take up a lot of space, and cost a bit to make.
So I am not in a big hurry to make them.

Comments like yours are the reason I decided to make this Ganon. A lot of people love the Legend of Zelda games. I wanted to give the fans something familiar, but new.
It was a lot of work! I learned a lot making it, and hope to put that knowledge to good use on my next costumes.
