i used an AK47 toy gun as the base for the grip as i wanted to use the lights and sound from it and i could not find a Thompson toy gun, The lights and sounds never turned out that well i i also didnt like the color so i cut it apart and rebuilt it adding movie sounds using a small sound board from adafruit and also added a working ammo counter here a pic of it finished and some videos of it in action :)

I made the head set because i wasnt going to make a helmet but then a friend talked me into it so i started work on the helmet.

I then made a few more extras in the form of the knotted para cord that hudson wears and some grenades which was made from glue sticks painted silver.

Now it was on to the motion tracker i made this from an old drill and scrap parts and used the app on my phone for the screen.

So that lastest piece ive finished is the leg armor just that back, belly and cod to do.

no but was a really easy built its the body from an old rotary hammer drill some old transformers from xmas lights and some paint and tubing i made the box on the side to house my old iphone 4 and have the motion tracker app running on it, i put the whole thing together in one night

Re: Aliens Colonial Marine Build

Very nice work. How much did it cost you to make the body armour?

not much just the price of the paint and a tube of superglue the most expensive part was the webbing and buckles, i have stacks of old sintra signs from work so all in all i would say the whole armor set has cost me about £50, The expensive part coming after with the BDU's and boots and electronics for the gun, The armor was the cheapest thing to make as i already had most of the stuff here.

Re: Aliens Colonial Marine Build

great suit build, and the pulse rifle and motion tracker are cool with the sound effects

Re: Aliens Colonial Marine Build

Very awesome! What did you use for a pattern for the armor? I've got a few sheets of Sintra lying around from working on custom Mandalorians, and I've been wanting to do a CM for ages.

I converted and adapted some pepakura files i found online
