Alienated Bio Mask - Check it out!

I would say call it done. You canoverwork a piece. This is right where it needs to be and I like that there is some smoothness and space to the dome to alow for custom airbrush work.

Thanks guys. I think its ready to mold also. But being the sculptor I see soooooo many things that need to be reworked that it will never get done so just for the record if you see anything major after you get one "Sorry". I am very VERY picky about semitry which is why I use calipers. This mask to me is a freakin nighmare to the precise calipers side of me. Also didnt help with a tweaked out form to work on but cant get perfection with donations. Thanks for the base to work on I apreciate it. *Btw. i lost your PM can you pm me again? *. But like Mike said. "...you can overwork a piece." Therefore I am calling it done against my beter more precice judgement. lol

Talking about chaos and order always battling it out. No wonder I never get anything done *heheh*

Wow Rob!

I've been watching this thread for some time and your sculpture is impressive and captures your original artwork perfectly. I really like the modification to the dome. At least you started with a Porsche which was symmetrical to begin with.

Nice work and I am glad you were patient with your sculpture and you took constructive criticism like a pro.

Congrats,

Paul

OH! Ok... That clears it up
Thanks for the compliments! I still have my alien bio on the wall and its still my favorite bio. Heck its my only bio! LOL

Ok the bio has been slathered with silicone and tomrow I will put annother layer on it. Man i hope this comes out. My first brush on silicone mold. The brush on ruber is a hell of a lot easier because its like water which means beter details I think. Ive used the brush on ruber at work but at home I have only the silicone. I will be thickening up the cheek area and making it so that the bio can be easily pulled out of the shell. Hope I have enough silicone cause im runing out fast. Luckily I bought some "Thixotropic" catalyst 2 weeks ago for this project. Cross your fingers, tails, tallons, dreds or whatever. heheh

Ok mold is done i will remove the sculpt from the mold soon. Now what do you guys recommend for a brush on resin? And supply a web address to the supplier if possible. Thanks for being patient with me on this.

Personally, I recommend Aeromarine products. They sell a lot of that kind of stuff at great prices. They are on EBay and have a site out there somewhere, too.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Oh wow now thats funny "as in coincidence" I used to buy resin and silicone from them a long time ago. i had no idea they had brush on resin. Cool! I will email them and inquire about it.

Also mold is done!

Problems that came up though. The fiberglass shell even though its tough its very sharp and sliced my silicone mold. I will repair that today. When I saw that I decided to put the fiberglass shell to the side and do my old fassioned plaster and burlap mold shell. Today after it set I was very pleased with the outcome. I will have blank bios ready in probably 2 weeks. If i get the resin in time. Might even wana ware them with your pred suits *grins*

Ok i ordered some brush in resin but man its taking the people a while to send it. It was supposed to be in last friday. Oh well hopefully it comes in today.

Good for you Vince it look great!!!

You should feel proud!

David

Another super-cool bio that will grace many collections, I'm sure!!!

Who gets the first one. I know i'm on the list somewhere Vince. Thats one sweet bio it has my name all over it.

That looks like a really sweet bio! I love it, especially all the detail on the cheeks. Wow!

Thanks guys. When making this first bio I had no idea that I needed something to make the resin thicker. Now I know so the next Environment Helmets *dans word* wont take 24 hours to make.
