Alien, Presator and AVP timeline.

So I've had a bit of an Alien and Predator marathon the past few weeks but something confuses me. Going by the timelines that are online, Predator and AVP takes places before Alien. If this is the case how were the Aliens already on existence before Prometheus? I thought Prometheus and Covenant show how the Aliens were produced - so how is it that they are in the AVP movies which happened years before??

The AVP movies are generally considered to be non canon/alt universe.
