Ahsoka Tano - Revisting my Daughter's Costume

My 6 year old daughter loves this character and wants to be her for Halloween next year - Great job so far!

Doing the finish work now on the tenticles. Thickened them up, evening them out and smoothed them out and worked on the underside of them near the cheek area to keep the edges clean.

Looks really good! My niece wants to do this costume too. :)

Just a little feedback, do you think the ends could be a little pointier (the tips near the arms)

Okay, after kicking a few ideas around with a few people and looking more in depth at a bunch of reference photos, I wasn't at all pleased with where I was going. (Yeah, I know...) Needless to say, last night I cut off the top of the sculpt and re-did it again. Bringing the points in much tighter to the center of her head and also raising the back slope considerably. I also added weight to the leeku at their bottoms because if you look at the reference pic above, it looks as though there's almost a sagging weight affect going on. Lastly, I cut back the leeku's length a bit and sharpened the ends.

Still plenty of refining left to do... the top needs a bit of filling in and smoothing, the back needs a lot of work still too.

Hey now! That looks great! Now mold and cast that sucker!

Seriously, I wouldn't tweak it any more, you might just end up over working it. I mean, you can ALWAYS find another reference shot that makes an item look off a bit and that seems to be doubly true with a CGI character. Apart from some slight smoothing, I think you've nailed it and captured the essence nicely.

Alright! Stop it WC. You're making me want to re-do mine! :lol

Seriously though. You really have captured it with this reworking. Looks great!

Looks a lot closer now! Great job!

You mentioned you're still working on the back, are you going to make the middle "tendril" more tapered too? That's the only thing that I see that's still a little off. Other than that, look great!

The sculpt is looking great and I hope I'm able to get in on the run.

Before you mold it though I wanted to point out that it looks like the side triangles are just a tiny bit uneven. Here's what I mean:

Using the left side of the photo, the red lines are the outer points and the blue lines are the inner points. It looks like the right side triangles are just a fraction of an inch higher. I'm not sure if this was going to be part of the minor tweaking you mentioned but I thought I'd point it out just in case.

Thanks Dan, I'll check that out tonight. It may just be a slight camera angle trick but I suspect you're probably right.

I appreciate feedback!
