Adult Amazing Spider-Man 2 (by Disguise) costume review

Puff paint too? How'd you make the spider?

Yup, puffing the whole thing. Added some soles to the suit too. The spider is made from a rubber placemat. I painted it with a thin layer of combo metallic black/Silver using a sponge brush. The pic doesn't do it justice. It looks the same color as the webbing, but has that different sheen to it like the movie suit.

I'm also trying to rig up a cheap half face shell. Anybody have any ideas?

Why not try the pepakura faceshell from Gimpee? It works pretty well once hardened and smoothed.

I really only need the bottom half of a shell. I may try to replicate something with cardboard and some thin plastic.

Oh, alright. You can try making only the bottom part of the faceshell. It kinda looks like The Winter Soldier's mask if you only assemble the bottom half.

Here's mine with nothing added but Tjacks awesome faceshell + lenses IMG_0042.JPG

Looks good.
I've managed to replicate the look of a faceshell without actually using one. You'll never get a faceshell in the mask on your head without putting a zipper in. Modified the lenses as well, and they're pretty darn close to movie accurate. I'll be finished painting the suit in a few days and will get some pics up.

this looks amazing, I have shell and lense combo, how did you do this without
ruining the mask?
Was really easy, Tjacks shell easily fits (slightly flexible) in and I just removed the lenses that came with it by carefully unscrewing them from the inside. I would have to modify it a lot more if I was planning to wear it as the eye holes that are left once the lenses are removed are huge but I'm not really fussed, I love the colors, to me it's as close to the movie suit as I've seen so far. I've just ordered a Zentai 'Ken's' printed suit and asked for it to be made out of a shiny type lycra so hopefully it'll look ok.

Cool, let us know how it looks. My face shell and lenses still need work the lenses aren't fitting the way I need the to, I don't think I trimmed the acrylic enough
