adding electonics to my playmates phaser...

i got my electronics from ebay the other day, its great looking but not set up for a phaser, so i am trying to figure out how to add it without messing it up... the lights are perfect size and colors, but the set up is to big for where it needs to be.

i emailed them to see if they can make small changes to them to actually fit the playmates but i havnt heard back yet...

Styrene and alittle bondo could make the hole smaller on the phaser itself so the light bar would fit, just a thought?

yah thats the plan to fit it, but whats bigger is kit itself, when you put it in the phaser its to uneven to set properly... maybe add some bondo to make a proper internal fit. but my other issue is the buttons area is on the bottom of the kit. there are wires coming from the buttons but i dont know how to hook it up to a button style switch...

Im not a huge electrical guy, but done some, you can get small buttons at like radio shack and just hook the pos and neg up and place them on the other side so they work with the buttons on top?

ok so besides bondo what is a good, not to messy material to use to fill in the gaps between the light set. what i was thinking was attacghing the lights and using whatever to fill in around the lights then clean it up after it dries...

For the soldering you might want to try the cold heat soldering unit.
I have one & it is amazing, easy to use and cools in seconds, uses batteries!
Check it out at www.coldheat.com
I use to use old style soldering gun, what a pain.
