I have found passable replicas of the belt buckle Vivienne Westwood ring on etsy and have one ordered. They presently have the original replica and one that is an adjustable band.

As a huge Adam Ant fan, I will be following your builds with great interest! I'm not sure I will be able to contribute much beyond encouragement as my knowledge of vintage clothing is nil... but I like that you plan to "...spend your cash; on looking flash; and grabbing our attention."
I am feeling this quote more and more as I find the sources behind his purchases. I am going to put together a total price package estimate when complete. With just the watch at 20000 plus and each ring (most are Vivienne Westwood) at 3 to 500 per, the number for just one outfit will be very very high.

Using the known size of 21.21mm as the standard stamped US Indian head nickel (ring on right hand) and using the nickel itself in comparison to the bracelet, I estimate the silver cuban men's bracelet to be 20mm wide links.

He has an added silver wire twist on the first link and I am unsure of its origin or significance. The bracelet I have found as my cosplay base is:

I will likely brush it with a wire brush or buff it on a polishing wheel with grit to produce the true poured silver look of the original.

First, fantastic work on your diligent research! I appreciate getting to follow along. The Vivienne Westwood connection makes a lot of sense given Adam's fashion history (and hers). Second, good to know that he is doing well, or at least his accessory budget is flush ;-)

My first thought on seeing the twisted silver wire on the bracelet was perhaps it is a fancy way to reinforce the locking mechanism - me thinks that is a pricey accessory one would not want to slip off while dancing on stage. Just a guess though.

Agreed, after reading your post, I can see it does seem to go up into the other half from the lock clasp location. Where the clasp release is, seems a great place to accidentally rub up against something and dislodge the entire bracelet.

I am loving his continuing of the crossover gangster styles. He has covered Hussar Mercenary, Pirate, Highwayman, Biker, Street Punk, and Upscale Mafia. I might be reading into it but I get a strong vibe that he thinks Royalty falls into this same group of gangsters.

Where would you put the Apollo 9 look in the list? Street Punk? Biker? Both?
Oh, I think you have caught me boxing Adam Ant when he doesn't stay in the box. He does most definitely make his own way and this was definitely one of them.

It might very well have something to do with his watch purchase... very rare, commemorative space mission edition. Not sure if the story is out there but possibly the watch has a good tale behind it.

That's not an extra wire it's a clasp lock that straddles the ball on the side to keep the bracelet together if the bracelet catch fails. Also why do I hear "Stand and deliver" while writing this? ;)

Good call on the space mission watch, I didnt put that together - I will have to dig up some old Apollo 9 photos to see if we can spot it.

This is a MUST READ!!!!

He lays it out here, all about style, including the big connection to Vivienne Westwood. Brilliant article, a huge gaping view into how he sees himself and the world.

Looks like the chain has a diamond cut to it and joined by a chili pepper dangling on a Carabiner ring

The dolphin and whistle look like attached to a old style car key ring
There are several of the old serpentine style keychain fob cables. That at least should be thriftable. The diamond pattern knurling is greatly unexpected for a chain of this link type. From a distance it is just dog lead chain but up close they are all custom links.

I figure I'd drop this here in the only thread that would appreciate it. To give greenmachines the continued inspiration.

The feathers on the right upper shoulder should be easy to replicate as well

Love it.

So, two issues arise here and many others are resolved. First, the coat I found, actually all of them, have the farthest row of buttons close to the next row. This distance changes only a little in these replica coats.

Seeing his original, moving and close up, confirms my earlier nagging doubts that the buttons are nearly equidistant between the first, second and third on each side (sharing the middle set of course). Making the decorative differences between each button, nearly the same distance. At the top, about 3 inches, equally from one button to the next.

On the replicas, that I found, they are about 1.5 to 2 inches from the outside buttons to the next inward but then a large jump of 4 to 5 inches to the middle. For finishing within my lifetime, I will either settle or order a custom coat......grrrrr.

The second discovery is that the pattern on the back is not the same as the replicas. I will need to do some screen caps to be sure.

However, seeing it in motion and zooming in and out, give great visual caculation estimates for jacket length and fit. Much more a waist hugging line than most replicas. More like a matador fit than a marching band fit. Thoughts?

I agree on the feathers. Will be an easy match and an excuse to go through my mom's craft collection. I guarantee she has all of them.

So question to this thread: Would you agree that the video exposes the inclusion of reflectives in the white bar face paint or is it just a specific angle reflecting on true grease paint? I lean toward thinking it must contain a good portion of glass bead grains or similar. Comments?

In my 185 pounds current state of the union, I will not be bare chesting it. So I wil also be looking for any really good pics of the white shirt he normally wears with this jacket, or the black for that matter. I have several possibles waiting to be ordered. I will load my inspiration pics for his poses with full shirts showing and then my possibles.

I still love seeing real jam session recordings vs today's completely lab grown overdubs. The edge and grit is there in his work but so is the talent. With new bands, I question how many years they were already mostly A.I. or synth voices..
