Accurate Fett lid.

I've seen only a couple of Fett helmets in the flesh - a DP (cheapie) and another helmet which is real nice but the owner said it's only 3/4 the size of the screen-used... Can anyone here post a side-by-side comparison of some? A movie-sized helmet and some other nice options (or a Rubies/DP). I'm interested in knowing more. :)

And nope, I'm not going to head over to TDH as I know a lot of guys post here anyhow.

Thanks.

Yes, but on TDH the majority of the people are Fett "gurus" so you might be able to get lots more comparisons if you ask there. I go there somtimes, and there is lots of really nice Fett lids that were custom made, its really astonishing. Fett helmets made from card board, fett helmets made from baseball helmets, etc. :)

Have you looked at starwarshelmets.com?

starwarshelmets.com

On the main page, select "Compare" from the vertical menu on the left side of the screen. Then scroll all the way to the bottom of the page that opens. You'll see several Boba helmets there for comparison. Unfortunately, none of them are actually side-by-side in the same photo and the photos are not to scale, so you won't be able to do the direct size comparison you're after. But it will give you an idea of some of the different paint jobs out there. It's a start. :)

You are ruling out the search function on TDH that can find your answer there in a few mins worth of looking instead of waiting for people to dig it up for you... :confused

ahh, but what if he isn't a member of TDH? He should be able to hope for an answer (true, not nearly as quick) here as well as anywhere. This IS a replica prop forum with a huge interest in all things Star Wars afterall...
:)

Good luck in the hunt.

Geez, guys. What's up with the low self-esteem when it comes to TDH? I was under the impression that this is the RPF - where all information on props can be found. As I've told 5 people via PM, it's not that I have anything against TDH - I just stick to one board when it comes to props. Nothing personal at all. I don't have a problem with TDH as I don't know anything 'bout it. :eek

Thanks for the advice, folks. That's the folks who posted helpful stuff instead on making assumptions.

An assumption? In the time it took you to type both replies to your topic you would have already had the information in front of you. Also, you may notice that you posted this in a prop section while it would more be considered part of a costume, though I can see where your comming from when you refer to it as a prop, but I would refer to props as more of the "fillers" for costumes to help complete the overall feel, like a lightsaber for example.
I mean compare the amount of posts in the prop section and compare that to the amount of posts in the costuming section, in fact the amount of posts on Boba fett helmets for that matter, and clearly TDH comes off as the better choice of where to ask, sure some members there are members here also, but you would get so much more information by just registering there, or even asking someone else to post the topic for you. I hope I don't come off as jerk or anything because I'm not trying to. I just wanted to explain why I would think TDH is the better site to post this topic.

ps, nice avatar that episode of seinfeld was pretty funny.

I refer to helmets which are (said to be) from screen-used lids as props... I know I wouldn't wear one. Too risky. All I was asking for was a pic of a MSH next to another smaller lid. A lot of people refer to helmets as just straight props - hence why there is s o many Vader helmet threads in here.

Many thanks to the folks who PM me regarding this - appreciated.

Not meaning to sound pretentious. Pointing out an easy boolean search on TDH would yield quick results and knowing that MSH helmets and some of the fan based sculpts have been posted in comparison threads so it should be an easy find. My intention was to point out the ease of use.

My 75% completed ESB Marrow_Sun helmet, the first helmet ive ever attempted to paint and I couldnt have done it without TDH, Please feel free to PM me if you'd like any more info

CTF, I think that people were just curious why you wouldnt look there. I can understand keeping your forum surfing to one forum. But not looking on the Dented Helmet for fett info is like looking for info on a startreck prop on a generic prop forum verses a startrek prop forum... the info would be easyer and quicker to find if you just went to a more focused source. But your right, most of the folks over there are here as well.

IMO, the most accurate are between the MSH2 (Fettpride) and the TF (Termanal Fettler)

Here's a few more.....

All helmets I have posted, this and above post, are either mine presently or I used to own at some point during upgrades. Actually the only two I still own are the MSH and MSH2.

Thank you, Lynn. That last pic you posted is the exact comparision I was looking for. You have my thanks. :D

The helmet that I've seen is based on a DP95 and it seemed really nice (well, it is really nice) but I was wanting to see how much bigger the screen-accurate lids were after the owner told me his was undersized.

Thanks again.
