He's only producing it. Timur Bekmambetov is directing.
Anyone see this yet? reviews?
I thought it was doubly odd that the movie was so different from the book since the author of the book (Seth Grahame-Smith) also wrote the screenplay.I enjoyed it. But it is your typical movie adaptation: Summarize the book in one paragraph and then fill in the gaps. I understand there are time constraints so some things had to be left out or combined together, but WTF was with the train at the end?
Its worth a watch. Some folks including myself were disappointed expecting it to be like the book which it is notso is this worth renting?
so is this worth renting?
This is one of those moments I wish I didn't read the book. The movie might have resonated better for me if I went in without the book on my mind. It was just so different from the book.
I had high hopes for it.
This has happened to me with almost all movies of books that I have read. They are never as good, mainly because our imagination fills in blanks that the film needs to show you. Then they don't include or change things that were in the book, this happened with the last Harry Potter movie and as much as I liked it, I was also missed some of what they changed or left out.
