AA/Diamond Select Phasers at TRU!

A new uber-huge TRU opened in town (reportedly the second-largest in the nation), and to my surprise they have Diamond Select Trek items. Action figures, and phasers!! Something like $24.99. In this iteration, the P1 color approximates the xynolite (sp?) grey (perhaps a little more on the grey side), and the P2 is more or less the accurate shade of grey (but the handle is the same color).

Yes, they were marked Diamond Select. Didn't see any communicators but I'm hopin'.

I went to another, older TRU in town and they didn't have any, so YMMV.

Yep- Diamond Select all gray phaser. A TRU exclusive. (this is an ebay pic)

I haven't seen them up here in Canadaland yet (mind you I haven't been to my local TRU for a couple of weeks), but I'll be adding this to my collection when I do!

been looking at my local for awhile now, also for the exclusive BSG figures, cant seem to find them though

That color combo is accurate to the phasers made by HMS For the deep space nine episode Trials and Tribulations! :thumbsup

I have been looking at these at TRU since around X-mas time when I first saw them.
They look great and the sound effects are good, but how are they size wise??

Are they over sized when compared to the real prop or a MR prop, because they look much bigger then the 23rd Centruy one I had a couple years ago.

My local TRU doesn't have any in stock, but the one an hour away has 4 apparently. I debating whether or not the cost of gas there outweighs the cost of shipping. Grr.

The woman said the main warehouses aren't getting that many in, so only scattered stores are getting them in stock.

Finally found one of these today. The local TRU didn't carry them so I had to go about an hour south, to the TRU in Ocala, to find one (also found about 16 Movie Master Jokers)

I love the colors on it. I dunno why but they really work for me. Not all that happy with the quality though. All of the ones I found had paint wonkiness around the emitter and the mold and seam lines are REALLY obvious. Also, and I didn't know this until I opened it, but the emitter on mine is bent slightly. I'm gonna try heating it and see it I can staighten it out but for $25 ($5 more than I paid for my black handle) you'd think that there wouldn't be so many QC issues.

Oh well. I still love it. On a side note, i just realized that I have two classic phasers and neither of them are from TOS :lol The black handle is from Enterprise and the gray is from DS9 :lol

Those were based on the color scheme of Steve Horch's T&T Phaser II. Good to see them on the market.

They are accurate to the Enterprise episode "In a Mirror, Darkly". The production used one of these phasers with the only change being the addition of a velcro strip on one side. They didn't fill seams or screw holes. Just used the phaser as is.

To both Glimm and Tri - When I worked for the one here in Bakersfield, we were able to do inter store transfers for customers so you might want to check out if thats still available.

Hey guys, I'm going to Toysrus tomorro, its about an hour or so away, and I know they have about a dozen of these grey handle Phasers there. I was wondering if anyone had any screencaps of the one it's based on. I'm thinking about buying it tomorro when I go, but I was wondering just exactly how "correct" it was in its paint scheme. (For Trials and Tribulations if I got that right.)

Also, does anyone know, or have a list of the other phaser color variants, and comparison sceencaps to them? It's my understanding that the one with the bronze looking handle is the most correct, right?

I'll have to swing by the TRU near my workplace and see if they have them.

By the way, they had a couple of the Jason masks. If anyone is needing one, let me know, I could grab one.

Yep, the TRU exclusive paint job is probably the most appropriate deco for the Art Asylum phaser, since it is based off of the HMS prop sculpt.
