You sure are putting out quite the effort to spin your buddy as a victim here but his own words betray him. Perhaps if he could learn to keep his trap shut and just let you continue to puppet for him, he would look a little better to the community but with his constant barrage of threats that he has the ability to sic LFL on his enemies, he sure doesn't look like the poor victim you would try to twist him into.

Just a question here, Brak's - and no offense intended - but what, aside from your disdain for the person who shall remain nameless, is your reason for pulling for AA? Hell, are you pulling for him at all, is a better question. If it's not my business, that is fine too. I am just curious.

lol:lol I think that is a totally valid question. Honestly, I am NOT pulling for AA. Granted, I will feel bad for him if he loses simply because it will financially destroy him and I wouldn't wish that on anyone... but, I think he is wrong. I don't have any special insider info, but from what I have seen and heard, I simply don't know how he could believe he has a right to sell. I believe that HE BELIEVES he has a right to do so... but I just don't understand how he can legitimately justify it. I think in the end, he will lose this case, not because LFL is bigger or has more money, but because I really can't see a justification for what he has done. Clearly, he and his lawyers don't share my POV.

The stuff about the nameless person... well, I am not going to stand by and let a habitual hypocritical liar who has been banned from almost every decent board for his antics be whitewashed as some sort of victim in all of this, despite his constant threats against me every time I post.

Ah, okay. That is how I was reading it. I just wanted to make sure. There are more than enough experts about that armor here. I am happy with settling for the MR $140 helmet. I can spot the discrepancies in AA's helmets, but if you asked me to pick them out from jump street like some of the members here did...no way. I don't have that kind of evidence. I like accurate Vaders, but that is where I draw the line. Too many other pieces to focus on.

I mean maybe ...just maybe somewhere in the courts some shred of positive evidence suppoets his case, or judge loses his mind, or contract law becomes redundant and is tossed out the window ?? Filing a counter claim is the first thing to do when being sued in any case that you intend to fight.
Why ? because if the judgement in their claim against him goes their way he won't lose anything extra, If it goes his way though it's payday can you imagaine the millions LFL have made from the stormtrooper image in the last 30 years ?
Of course there would still be arguements that LFL could make but one thing that wouldn't be disputable is who owns the rights to the stormtrooper image because that would already be cleared up in their claim against him, all that would be left to decide is how much he's entitled to.

Typical MO for an angry childish bully to lash out and make vapid threats when a truth they don't want to hear or see is presented. I take it in stride as his threats are based on lies, misinformation, delusions of grandeur and are more or less the impotent ravings of a spoiled brat who has had his toy taken from him. It makes him feel that he still has some thin veil of power and might so... ehhh... whatever... let him froth at the mouth. The more he does the more he proves my points.

Plus, you actually have to believe a threat is a threat for the law to take it seriously. By the sound of it, you do not believe his threats to be anything beyond air.

I can see everyones points here.

I think the entire prop community is worse off for this case existing. I hope things go well for AA, because he'll need it. I hope things go well for the rest of the prop collectors who love star wars props and don't want to have a big brother intervention into the hobby. We're all pretty free to do as we wish at the moment, by comparison to how it could be.

I wish AA luck, and I wish this community luck with copyright infringement issues in the future. We get away with a lot.

Here's a little history.

TE was a member here, years ago. He would unleash his temper and lash out. I didn't know him from Adam, we crossed swords a few times, nothing major but frankly I was glad when he asked for his own banning.

Then came Celebration 3. I was in a restaurant with some friends and a guy stood up and called me over to him. He acted like I was his best buddy, I had no idea who he was. It was TE. We traded a few pleasant words and he gave me his phone number and said to call him if I ever made it to the Seattle area.

Up until this my only contact had ever been here. I thought this was odd that he would act this way toward me, but people frequently are different in person. So I put it down as that.

A year passes.

By a strange twist of fate, I end up moving to Seattle. So I look him up.

I am invited to his house. He had just received a fiberglass trooper helmet, that I guess was derived from a scan or something. Sure it was nice but I have never been a fan of the lumpy bumpy "exact" copy of a screenused beat up helmet.

In the process of showing the helmet and telling me the origins of it, out of nowhere he proceeded to tell me how he had made a deal with LFL to help them out with the AA case, and to finger other armor makers in exchange for them NOT prosecuting him. He even bragged and laughed about it.

I was appalled. He ratted out his fellow bootleggers. So much for honor among thieves.

But it was really none of my business and he was for all intents and purposes gone from my world and I didn't see him around anywhere anymore, so I kept quiet.

A year later I found myself at a Seattle collectors party and who is there, TE's ex-wife. In the course of conversation, without me even asking about it, she confirmed that he had done that. Apparently LFL was going to lower the boom on them and he made the deal to save them from financial ruin. Who wouldn't.

Believe this story, or don't. It's the truth. There was another RPF member present at his house the day he showed me the helmet and there was an RPF member within earshot of the conversation with his ex-wife. I will not out either of them but they were there.

I guess with all this being stirred up, I just couldn't hold this in anymore. Undoubtedly this will begin another round of personal bashing and insults from my internet stalkers but so be it.

It would be nice for this to stay on topic and present the Ainsworth LFL case. Just for once I would love to have some kind of Stormtrooper thread that did not involve the bickering between camp Matt, camp Gino, and all of the friends and haters therein. It is sad guys really.

The only thing that will be a breath of fresh info will be the outcome so I really don't see where your argument holds much merit.
