AA case begins

My prediction about 'the hobby'. LFL is going to be super alert to all underground activity now after all the BS and money they sunk into dealing with AA. Then they're going to flood the market with substandard TK wares till the cows come home. They already have a lot of this lined up for market. If I was them that's what I would do. Good luck to you all!

A lot of people keep saying this and I just am not following. From what I have seen and heard, LFL has more or less always had its fingers on the pulse of the replica world. They know the makers and from time to time, when a line (a line none of us seem to be able to clearly define) is crossed, they react. I think back to GF and his brush with LFL... Granted, that certainly wasn't as big a deal and didn't get the publicity the AA case is getting, but they did their thing with him and then that was it. They didn't start going after others although others were clearly and openly selling at the same time.

I don't see why things will be any different after the AA case. They are going to tear him apart, put a little fear in the entire replica community, but I don't see them suddenly going after other makers. Why would they? This is LFL we are talking about, not Paramount. In my mind LFL has always gone by some set of rules and when those are broken they react, but I don't see them just lashing out at everyone, big or small. Maybe I am wrong. In his endless tirades, Matt sure likes to claim he is going to be sending them after all of his enemies, but that isn't the LFL I have come to know over the years. Seems more like typical Matt posturing in an pitiful effort to make himself still feel like he matters.

In regard to flooding the market... LFL isn't doing that. Companies are getting licenses and they are doing it. It isn't like some master scheme from LFL. The demand for replicas continues to grow thanks to groups like the 501st and companies are swooping in and getting licenses to fill that demand. If those companies send LFL after people for infringing on their license, well, what can you do? I still don't see that having a connection to the AA case.

I guess I just don't see this changing the face of the hobby the way so many others do. I am sure there will be waves and people will be more cautious, as they should be, but I don't see things drastically changing from the way they are today.

thats my take on it too

I see Matt has once again become Chandlers Third Nipple. Please dont try and say it is pertinent to the topic either, BB. The snide remarks prove otherwise.
TE is not a member here nor is he able to defend himself. I thought there were some rules about that sort of thing.
Im relatively certain you could have made your point without the TE comment. This is what I was talking about.

Actually, I made a valid comment about Matt within a very valid set of comments about the same topic. There was no effort to get things offtrack and it is unfortunate if you are so easily distracted by factual statements that apply to the question at hand.

I hope you have permission from Muir to show those pictures or whoever sent them to Gino. As Brian Muir will probably not be happy that they are circulated.

Here's the pics of the sculpt. Is that AA in the background? :p

Images removed. Brian Muir provided them and has stated that these were not to be reposted.quote]

BS. Nice try and exactly what I was talking about and THIS is what POs me. I hope you believe what you jsut wrote cuz I guarantee nobody else does. Im not easily distracted at all but now Im irritated at your poor behavior and snice remarks. Youre being a jerk. Take it elsewhere. You didnt have to make an effort you seem to be able to drag TE in to snide commentary EFFORTLESSLY. This thread is about AA. Not Gino. Not TE. Not what LFL is going to do next to others and what others have to do with it and youre framing more shots at TE in the FRAMEWORK of valid comments...BS.

well i'm going to make a little u-turn after the facts have come to light and say
I hope AA gets smoked like a kipper :lol
It was the Liz Moore thing that got me. That and the fact that he tried to discredit the lovely John Mollo and Brian Muir at the same time. If there are any AA defenders left they must be a little bit odd to say the least.

I also think the comminuty will be a lot better off with the disappearence of Mr A and we can all look back on this and have a real good laugh at his expense because frankly you couldnt make this stuff up (well, AA certainly can).
If anything this may build bridges that were burnt a long time ago as long as people are gracious enough to accept they were wrong.
I was slated many moons ago on my Garrison boards for calling AA a liar and a cheat as he was considered 'a really nice bloke'. I challenge anyone to tell me they still think he is a 'really nice bloke'.

A lot of of us have been taken to the cleaners by really nice blokes and by sticking up for them. I think AA Charisma was fueled by something pretty dark. Its amazing the amount of vitriol that can be generated by plastic. Some of it, as in this case, is well deserved. Trooper armor has always seemed to bring out the best and worst in folks. This hobby suffers and falls prey to greed and ego and dishonesty in the search to have 'the best'. There are some bright spots to be sure but as long as there are those that think they can profit excessively from this hobby then lies will be told and secrets kept.

That sure doesn't sound like the 'let's all share' attitude you portray. :p

It's not that, it's just that it has taken Muir alot to open up and trust people on the Den so I dont want him thinking we are sharing his pictures on other forums.

Well maybe someone should warn him about the people there.

I have no problem with sharing, but don't post a pic without giving credit and also don't post a pic you have no permission to post. I remember quite the hissy fit you gave on the Den when Cantina Dude didn't give you credit for using your pics, so please stop your holier than thou posts.

Who is taking it offtrack now?

Every single thing you have said here could be said about plenty of others but you are simply taking offense because there was a comment about Matt. Get over it. I haven't shown poor behavior nor have I been a jerk. I simply responded to another post that expressed a sentiment I have seen again and again regarding the fallout from the AA case. I didn't "effortlessly" pull Matt into it. Matt finds me so fascinating that he continually comments to me about that exact subject... the fallout of the AA case! You don't like what I have to say? Here is a simple solution. In your user prefs you can easily add me to your ignore list and then you won't have to be offended so easily. If you don't want to hear about the potential fallout from the AA case, well, go back to the original poster. The fact of the matter is, you just don't want to see anything but happy carebear BS wirtten about Matt and feel the need to attack when you see anything else.

Oh and make sure you say something to darthvaderv about turning this thread into a picture sharing issue. That isn't AA related is it? Maybe we should make a new thread on picture sharing so you won't be pissed off again by this thread being taken off track. :rolleyes

Go look at TE's post on the propden if you want to see a jerk

I hate to say it, but ALL of the posts regarding banned members need to go. This thread is NOT about them. I have been very magnanimous about the whole crow thing, but right now, it seems like the Pro-AA crowd is trying to turn this around to focus on issues that do not apply to the thread. Again, it's about the AA case, his attempted theft of credit for work he did not do, and the outcome of the case, which we should know about soon.

Normally I would agree, but a certain banned member just happens to be directly related to the discussion of the trial.
