Well I can confirm the community definitely doesn't know how to help themselves.
The guy was offered $500 by someone just to strip it to see what was inside. Now they won't sell for anything less than 1-2K

I'm certainly not going to pursue this any further.

Lesson learned. If anybody spots one ever again, don't go public. Contact one or two veteran members quietly, figure out how to proceed and just pay up front for it. Then go public and auction off what's left. I know we'd all want in, but it just won't work any other way. If we compete with ourselves we'll only drive the price up and everyone loses.
