Maybe for a short or very limited run, the heat and pressure will cause the surface to start flaking and crumbling in short... Just get some Hydrocal, it's hardly much more money and will yield much better results...

TridCloudwalker Sr Member RPF PREMIUM MEMBER Dec 7, 2008 #3 Spackle also shrinks and warps pretty severely when it dries. It's fine for fixing small cracks and holes in a wall, but I wouldn't plan on using it for anything large.
