A new Darth Vader Helmet is in town ... pure evil

nice RKW.

i think i posted the same "idea" on his JY thread. ;)

love your pic, but can you do one to where the grey strip meets the black under the point of the peak....

not all the grey on his nose mind you ( i like how you did it) just where its smaller and stops short of the point, if it were under it, it would kinda hide the seam.

just wondered if it was somethin you could try to see what it would look like. :D

can you imagine these things with an ROTJ gloss... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehw. :love

thats really close to what im invisioning... to bad i dont have any photoshop skills...

seriously that looks cool.

but something, maybe if that rear strip was a bit thinner? or round on the sied of the nose... something right there if changed, would make this perfect...

too bad i dont know what it would be. :lol

either way i cant wait to see what a few of you do with these bad boys.

i could see a drab ANH finish... i could see a gloss ROTS solid black... and of course this little incarnation.

anyone else feel that this is so close to perfect but somewhere that grey next to the nose etc. could be shaped differently... just throwin ideas.

either way great PS work on a great sculpt. :thumbsup :thumbsup B)

Eyes.....I make eyes.

If like me you're wondering about what colour lenses to go for this might help.

Is it possible to centre the top of the ridge on the dome, it curves off to the right and the top (as you look at it). I'd imagine this would be an easy fix, I hope so :)

For one I would think it's way too late in the day to make changes to the sculpt plus I think it's intentional as the center dome ridge is crooked on the ANH dome. Also I'm not sure the dome is sat level so it may seem more off.

looks titlted to me, closer to his right eye than left.

BTW...

this is the FIRST and only time ANYONE has suggested that jesper "FIX" anything... :p :lol

id say that this sculpt is about perfect, at this point were just playing with color scheme ideas. B)

wow, the eye color really changes the look dont it... :love

man either of the top 2, red eyes cause im an ANH fanatic, but the grey looks souless almost. very cold and fitting for this piece.

nice work again RKW. :thumbsup :thumbsup

and of course Jesper. :thumbsup :thumbsup

Hey all,

I just whipped up a quick weathered version. The concept here is to see what this helmet would look like if it lived the life the screen used ANH helmet lived. So this is what I came up with:

Kinda' fun.

Later,

MJC.

... You just noticed another little intended detail that I added on this to "connect" the Concept Vader
more to the OT Helmets - especially the ANH - ;) ... look at the ridge of the Original ANH Vader Helmet
and you will see it curves the same way - :p ... I just love adding these kind of subbtle details, as they
add so much more life and tension to my works - :) ...

:thumbsup :thumbsup That's what I like about your work. It's not just a recreation. There are some personnel interpretations in it as well. :thumbsup

I didn't realize this was intended, well done then :)

nice color pics. This has got to be one of the cooler helmets I've seen on here and watching the progress is amazing. Really spooking looking; great take on the concept. Nice job.

Awesome work, RKW, on the Photoshopped paint schemes and eye colors. Seeing the photos is like going to one of those high-tech makeover shops where they show you what your hairstyle will look like before they ever touch a strand. What a terrific way to get an idea of how a finished piece might look. Thanks for the preview.

I like the color split down the middle. For eyes, so far I like the red and the light grey. Although the eyes in the McQuarrie concept artwork look dark to me, like the rest of the costume, the light grey eyes do seem cold and "soulless," as oldken wrote. They give the mask the look of death.

Cantina_Dude, your weathered version looks great. :thumbsup
