A L I E N FIVE Neill Blomkamp's ALIEN movie

Are they still doing the sequel to Prometheus? I know I may be in the minority, but I LOVED that movie! I am sort of excited for this Blomkamp Alien but I don't really want to see Sigourney as Ripley again. Michael Biehn would be cool though. Hopefully Ridley will still make Prometheus 2. This could be great as well, but seeing Blomkamps previous work has me slightly worried. I'll just have to wait until we hear more.

does anyone know of BIG BAD MAMA is gonna be in this one =/

i missed my wifu since her runway contract ended in ALIEN VERSUS PREDATOR =/ ( all due respect to PREDATORS ) , she needs more screen time

Well, I'll be buying a ticket just to see that on the big screen.
What other improved kit is there?

But will it still make that sweet and totally awesome sound effect when it fires? I don't want you to pull an ALIEN3 and go "Screw it. The Pulse Rifle sounds like a regular machine gun.".

Oh, wait a second guys. This Pulse Rifle is a fake. The shrouds are olive drab where as real Pulse Rifles are brown bess. Dang. I was really really forward to this.

It's a slightly worrying sign if he starts putting things like weaver rails and things on there, making it look too much like "modern day weapon porn". I'm fine with USCM weapon tech having evolved during the 30 years between the films but I don't want my Alien mixing with Black Hawk Down or The Expendables. Also, if the USCMs in this movie go "hua" and/or hold their PRs in that correctly-safe-yet-ridiculous-looking angle with the crooked wrist, then I'll personally fly down to South Africa and hit Mr Blomkamp in the head with a mallet.

I'm just sayin'...

Now you just remember those breathing exercises.... ;)

Oh, I'm breathin' alright.

(And no disrespect intended towards those in the real armed forces. I just want my USCMs in the not-too-realistic gung-ho 80's where they belong.)

Yeah, I agree with this...but I wouldn't hold your breath.

That said, I don't have a huge problem with the guns being a little more "tacticool" as long as it's treated as an evolution of tech rather than "Uh...because we thought it looked cool?"

Like joatrash mentioned earlier, I realize that there will be some progressions in weapons evolution after 30 years, just look to the M-16 for example. Although it has received some minor changes, the overall weapon is still the same. I also realize you can't please everyone and I am not the one making the movie. I like the fact they kept the base PR, but these additions/mods just don't toot my horn.
