We were blessed with one of the best freaking sequels ever made and Scott not only shoots down the proper sequel to ALIENS, he says he wished he didn't let the franchise get away from him in the first place. So, how are we to proceed Sir. Ridley Scott?
I don't usually call things but this time my gut feeling seems to have been pretty spot on. He couldn't stomach that his horrendous quasi-prequel ideas are a lot less hyped and popular than the interest that Blomkamp's film was getting. This is akin to going home with your toys... or rather making sure to ruin them so that no one else has any fun. He's gonna ruin Blade Runner as well with the sequel in these vain attempts to recapture lost glory. Just wait.
We were so close to having Ripley and Hicks kick Alien ass again and now this pretentious, self-righteous and overrated director* seems to have ruined those chances.
I guess having a reunion of more that one of the greatest scifi casts in cinema was just too much for one decade. I guess I'll go back to my dark shed and finish building that Smart Gun...
