Hello all. I am going to be posting pictures of my recent Lego man build. My boss asked my to make a few "Lego guys" for our daycare and therapy facilities and I gladly accepted. These first pictures are from 1 days work this past Sunday. I am pretty happy so far in the build and hope to make more progress by this next sunday. This Lego will not have the legs moving but the additional ones will.

I had to put pics up as URL until I figure out how to properly display them in this thread...

I originally was going for 6 feet tall to have him be eye-level with adults but I did not want to tackle the head just yet. We had the Lego head sorter already and now we are planning on building 4-5 more at this height. I am pretty excited.

Looks great - If I had to make a criticism, the body looks very slightly oversized compared to the head to me... But only slightly :)

Yeah Scapey, the body is slightly larger than true measurement. I will be doing a ton of sanding/wood filler as well as rounding the edges. This, and once it's painted should get the look I am going for.

I used a 7.5 inch tall lego light to take my measurements and multiplied by a factor of 7 to come where I am now. I just found the lego Patent measurements today (go figure) but they are in metric. No mathematician here but when 10.2 cm converts to 4.01575 inches, I decided to "wing it".

Also, Trues17, I am building 4-5 of these for the kids clinic and daycare and here are the ones we are thinking about doing. I'll make whatever gets the most votes as the 5th one!

1. Harry Potter http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qa13GlKvk...k8Y0W0w/s400/4736-harry-potter-minifigure.jpg

2. Anakin Skywalker

3. Buzz Lightyear or Woody Have not decided.

4. Superman

5. ???

That is WAY cool. I'd love to have an oversized minifigure. Any way to mass produce these in plastic?

I am in talks with a foam supplier in my area and am going to make the same size (52 inch) tall Lego foam Doll. I am actually more excited about the foam characters because I can either coat them in StyroSpray which will make them look like Legos with a little flexibility or i can cover in durable fabric and they can become family toys. I have made it where the arms can become detachable and reattachable easily and can make it where the legs move or are stationary.

I am giving the Foam company my pieces so they can match it identical and so they can cut it to the right specs. One Lego guy will end up being 7 pieces in all.

I will post picks once I get the foam back.

That would be awesome! I'm a little into Lego, and my kids would flip if one of these showed up at our house.

Just dropped off my current pieces to have it built from foam. They are backed up so he couldn't give me a time frame but I am hoping to get it back in a week. My cousin and I are going to attempt to build 4, 52" tall lego guys this Sunday. I have high hopes that with both of us and some Monsters, we can get it done minus the sanding and detail work.

Still taking votes on who the 5th lego character should be. So far we have Indiana Jones and Batman.

Nice! I whipped up a quick head from an old propane tank and 1/2 a paint can. On the next one I'll cut the can a bit shorter.

Nice BadMojo! I almost used a propane tank as the my head but because I had the Lego head sorter already I didn't. I have been meaning to do this to both my propane tanks but just been lazy...
