50's Costume project- Help me choose!

So I am going to Disney in FL in march with General Frosty. The day that we go to the movie/hollywood studios he is dressing up like Indy. The original idea was for me to dress as Marian but I would not have enough time to put that together or enough money. General Frosty found a website that had 50's dress costumes. The new idea was for me to just dress like that being the recent Indy movie was set in the 50's. There was many that I liked but I narrowed it down. Please give me your opinion and help me choose!

I've always been a big fan of that late 40s early 50s circle skirt look. Those full skirts are wonderful and they look good on everyone. Take a look at www.trashydiva.com for some nicely made, reasonably priced 50s repro dresses. Also browse http://www.costumes.org/history/100pages/1950INKS.HTM for some more info on 50s garb.

The pics you posted frankly look a little on the cheap side. Very simply made reproductions with the exception of the 4th one that actually looks like it could be vintage. Here's one we just had made for our show in NYC.

Mary Huff. Known her since our teens.
Laffo.

Really? I had been a fan for years and met them at a show they did at the NC art museum. Then they showed Talledega Nights on the outside screen. Great birthday.

Will Disney allow you to go in dressed up? I think several people have had problems with security as they didn't want tourists mistaking them for employees.

Before you go check with WDW guest relations about your plans. They won't usually let guests in the park in costume. Since Indy and also the "50's Look" are already costumed characters at the studios park you can count on being turned away at the gate.

Other than that, it sounds like it would be a lot of fun!

Seriously? There are all KINDS of people in costume in the parks on STAR WARS weekends and at Halloween. Are those some kind of special exceptions?

Rick

PS - I know, a bit off topic. Sorry. I like #1 if you're going for something flirty.

You are correct. Disney will not allow you to go in costume.
