300 - Spartan Collection Display

I'm trying to arrange my better props in a pleasing display for my living room, giving it a bit of a movie museum feel and I have most of my 300 artifacts up on the wall. I have the spot to the right of the helm open and I have a NECA Spartan Cloak that I want to put up. I'm just trying to find a way to properly hang it for a good display, and the only way I can really think is a kind of mannequin set of shoulders to mount against the wall and hang the cloak from that. I don't want a full mannequin and it can't stick out too far because there's a door to the right of helm too. Any suggestions on how to display the cloak?

Dude, those are sooo sweet! I have Leonidas's helmet, sword and spear; I bought the shield to but it arrived shattered so I sent it back and now I'm just waiting to buy another one after I finish my National Treasure collection. As for the mannequin, they do sell wall mounts to hang mannequins that have bracket inlets on the back of the neck. I have this one:

It hangs from a pole stand. It was given to me by a friend in the clothing industry. Good luck with that bro...looks great!

Yeah, I'm kind of looking for something like that, but hoping that it could be just the upper bust, the neck and shoulders, maybe half the upper chest but none of the lower torso or legs, so I can show off the cloak more. I want to be able to show the front which has the leather straps and the bronze clasp.

What about making the "torso" from styrofoam covered with cloth? (maybe built over a wood 1X2 crosspiece for support and to mount to)

Lightweight and inexpensive.

Interesting, any tutorial on how to do this exactly? Or at least a few pics of the process?

Nice, as mentioned very clean and professional :thumbsup

Hey I wonder who cast those, they look pretty nice ;)

As far as display, have you looked at Arturo's stuff... it may give you some ideas...

Yeah, mine hangs completely; it looks like it's on the floor because the wrap kinda touches the base. The mannequin is fully suspended off the ground and is only from the neck to the hips. If you need help I have a few ideas where you might be able to find one.

Cheers bud!

Never seen a tutorial, but I've got a similiar idea scribbled on scratch paper for a future project (display of a Dracula cape).

Very nice display. It would also be cool to see a battle damaged shield, complete with some arrows in it on your wall as well.

Don't want to hang it partially draped over the shield?

Mmmmm.. interesting idea, but no, I don't think so. Too much of it will be concealed behind the TV, might interfere a little with air flow behind the TV, etc. I prefer the idea of keeping it to the right most side.

I have been finishing up my 300 collection and working on a spear. I got a resin spear tip and butt from the junkyard and a wooden dowel that I cut down to about 6 foot. I stained the wood and added a leather grip to it at a comfortable height while carrying it vertically, with a little bit of my own spin on it having two leather straps dangling from the grip. This is the 'new' state but I'm looking to weather it a bit before it goes on full display.

A long view..

The butt..

The tip, with a little bit of speckled blood.

I'm going to weather the shaft with some paint and bang it up a little bit. I don't want to weather the blade of it too much, chopping chunks out of it, but thinking I'm going to find something I can kind of spackle on it like gore stuck to it. The butt I want to find something that I can spackle around it to simulate caked mud. I suppose I can use bondo, but I would then have to go back and paint it up from the pink color. Is there anything good that could be applied and when it's cured it's effectively done?
