300 prop makers???

Ok,
So I am dying to know if anyone on this site got to make any of the props in 300. I know that some here have made props for military movies and such and in their free time make stuff that is offered here. I have been watching the making of 300 DVD and was trying to figure out what all is used when they make prop weapons for this type of movie. They are beating the HELL out of each other in the fight scenes and in the making of DVD it is obvious the weapons they are using are not metal. Rubber, plastic, fiberglass, ??????? Also, the pic from the immortal thread, are there anymore pics like that from the props they used???? Who made the weapons and who did the special effects?? Anyone know???

I found out several weeks ago that an old, old acquaintence of mine worked on the makeup crew and did some stuff on Ephialtes and the tree of the dead. He's trying to get me in touch w/ some of the prop people now, but I don't know how busy he is.
