Re: NorCal Prop Party Is A GO!!! - Oct 6, Petaluma

Myself and 7 others from the N. Cali group will be there.

Re: NorCal Prop Party Is A GO!!! - Oct 6, Petaluma

Has anyone posted it to the GGG and RL forums yet? I know many of the SW costumers will be busy with a nationwide Star Wars literacy event that day, but hopefully some while show up. They used to be the core crowd at previous prop parties.

I have not, and I must confess I'm a little on the fence about it. Typically at these types of things, the doors are open to anyone who wants to come and check out the madness, and there's also usually a TON of overlap between members on this forum and other forums.

However, since the location is being donated to us by Don, I'm weary to expand the scope beyond the initial target audience, which was RPF folks and some local R2 builders (pretty much all of whom are ALSO RPF members)

I guess I will look to Don for an answer to that question. If he's OK with a possibly large group, we will take it from there. :D

I think keep it to the RPF, but back in the day the core set of people attending where 501st/RL. I'm sure they'll get the word somehow and sign up here.

Hi Folks-

At this point, let's keep it RPF only. As Matt said, I've invited the R2 Builders, and there seems that there will be a good turnout between both groups. Since the shop is relatively small, I wouldn't want the participants overwhelmed and made less enjoyable.

I would love to come. I'll have to see what my October looks like.

Re: NorCal Prop Party Is A GO!!! - Oct 6, Petaluma

I think I can go, but my schedule is iffy this far out. I have a wedding to attend the night before so helping set up is out and they have that Star Wars Reads stuff going on that day and my being the local base CO of the RL might tailspin my attendance.
I'd far rather do the prop party than the Reads thing, that's for sure.

Count me in!

Any chance to chat with Don is a good thing. Looking forward to meeting other RPFers as well.

This is getting closer, so I wanted to ask a few questions:
Since this is at Don's shop, will we have space to display props? Do we need to bring our own table and chairs? How much space is available? What are we doing about refreshments?

Re: NorCal Prop Party Is A GO!!! - Oct 6, Petaluma

I am planning on attending.
I'll bring my Iron Man suit as well as some other busts to display.
Thanks, Darren

BTW, from my experience it's not a prop party unless Clone6 brings a sandwich or veggie tray from Costco. :)

Hey Matt,

I may want to bring a couple of guests. Will that be all right? One may be a Marvel comic artist who has worked on few movie prequel projects.

Re: NorCal Prop Party Is A GO!!! - Oct 6, Petaluma

What's the start time again. Didn't see it in the first post and I'm sure others are wondering too.

Re: NorCal Prop Party Is A GO!!! - Oct 6, Petaluma

What about an address?
I looked through this thread, and through the website and didn't see one. Did I miss something?

Re: NorCal Prop Party Is A GO!!! - Oct 6, Petaluma

Looking forward to it and the answers to the questions above.

Re: NorCal Prop Party Is A GO!!! - Oct 6, Petaluma

I have emailed don asking about street address and start time. As soon as I hear back, I will update the thread.

In other news, I will be unable to attend, which is kind of a bummer but it is what it is. I'm sure you'll all still have plenty of fun in my absence, and I hope you'll all raise a glass to me in fond memory :D

Re: NorCal Prop Party Is A GO!!! - Oct 6, Petaluma

I need a volunteer! Someone to take the reigns on the "day of" organization of the event. Really not a lot of heavy lifting to be done, just someone on the ground to act as point-man (or woman) and free up Don to take care of his stuff.

Please post here if you're interested. Without a volunteer, I think Don will want to reschedule.

Re: NorCal Prop Party Is A GO!!! - Oct 6, Petaluma

Could you be more specific about the duties and time commitment of the volunteer?
