After I finished with this Phaser modification, I needed to find a way to power it with 2 - 3.7v LIPO rechargeable batteries in series
and prevent them from discharging to a low and unsafe minimum voltage which will cause them to fail and no longer hold a charge.
So I had to design a circuit that will protect this from happening.
This added circuit would have to fit in the only remaining area in the Phaser that would hold it.
The handle was the location of choice. The video pretty much shows the finish electronics and function of this prop and is indeed
one of a kind.
I mention in the video that I still have to put the charging connector through the bottom of the handle as well as a total power
on/off slide style switch.
This modification/enhancement took many hours in the design phase as well as the installation.
Since this toy Phaser did not come with any electronics or sound, I had to add the Red and Blue LEDs, sound board
(from a Playmates Blue Bent Handle Phaser), small driver amp. for the speaker, batteries (2 - 3.7v rechargeable LIPO's in series),
custom make a charging and safety discharge circuit with automatic kill to save the battery from MAX. low voltage level, remove all the
chrome paint and repaint with automotive paints (silver metallic and gunmetal gray), miniature motorized gear setup for the flip head
function and it's control circuitry and touch switch for the firing sound function.
This Phaser also has a descent weight to it because of all these added features.
Below is a video showing how it is now:
