1/72nd Finemolds Millennium Falcon (Major Modifications and Electronics)

Look awesome. I especially like the paint chip effect in the pics above. How did you do that? The scale of the chipping is perfect

Amazing work!! Was going to ask the same about the chipping (hairspray, maskol or by hand?) keep it up he's going to be over the moon with the work you've put in.

I always apply it with a torn sponge, sometimes when the masking fluid is dry I'll pick at it so that it's even more ragged. Gives a nice effect

Not quite finished, but not far....
The paintwork is finished, save a few details, so the final hurdle is fitting the electronics systems.
The finish line is in sight!

It may only be tuesday but it's already busy in the HH workshop, kitting out Marc's Falcon with all the necessary wiring and sockets before the Micropython is installed.

The Electronics still require a lot of work before they're complete, it's definitely keeping my Dad busy. While he's been working on the code and hardware, I fitted all the components I could; IR receiver, proper cabling and one out of two speakers. It doesn't sound too shabby at the moment, and it's only going to get better.....

This last one is a video! Click it! Watch it! Please! It's very cool!

Overall it is fantastic. Truly an inspiration.
Having said that I don't understand the blast holes on top by the dish. Initially they were spot on.... not a fan of the streaking effect. The docking rings look great but the size is kind of toy'ish in the way that the mpc side walls were thick (accurate or not).
Definately one of the most advanced electronic set ups one seen
are the engines final or are you adoing the grill?
also I think is is refreshing to see someone finally chip all of the paint not just the red.
i hope I didn't come off as a dick, but only true friends stab you in the front

Reguards

The docking rings are the correct size, 40mm, most likely what makes them look slightly odd (if they do) is the wedged recess that they sit in should be more angular. As for the blast streaking.....it may not be accurate but I kinda like it, at least they don't look like 'blast mark spiders' right :D

I need to discuss with the client whether he wants the grille or not, we're already approaching the budget limit eek!

The finish line is in sight; my Dad brought home the electronics he's been working on and we gave it a little test run.

The software isn't complete and there are still issues that need ironing out, I also need to mount a barrel connector into one of the maintenance wells, the power source is a rechargeable Li-ion battery.
The idea is that the Falcon will recharge in a similar manner to how it is shown 'refuelling' in Docking Bay 94.

What we do know is that the infrared receiver, speakers, LEDs, Neopixels, micropython (and whatever other magical goodies my Dad packed in) all seem to work beautifully.
