1:700 scale USS Destroyer Forrest Sherman

This was my first attempt ever attempt at a 1:700 scale US Destroyer, and wow was this thing tiny and more difficult than I anticipated. I can't begin to count the number of times a piece flew out of my tweezers and fell on the floor, where I spent minutes on my hands and knees looking for a microscopic piece lol and that isn't even mentioning the rigging which was finer than human hair and even though I have great vision, it was driving me crazy.

During my build a good friend hit me up as her husband actually became the commander of DDG-92, so I actually built two destroyers, one for me, one for her. They are the same class but slightly different configurations (DDG-98 and 92). Needless to say my 2nd time went alot smoother as I fixed a few mistakes I made with mine and waited till the very to glue down the PE railing. For mine I decided on a water base as I've been watching quite a few tutorials on YouTube and they make it look so good. I think I did fairly good for my first attempt at a water diorama, but I'll definitely do a few things different next time. Anyways here's both completed builds, hope you enjoy!

I have a 1/72 Gato that's 52" and type VII U-boot at 36".
Monsters.
Nice! I've thought about doing a U boat but in a smaller scale with a diorama. At that scale that would definitely make things a bit easier, but finding room to display them might be another matter lol
