It's white, with a few drops of black, and a few drops of silver. Weathering I added a few more drops of black. All Tamiya acrylic. For the nacelle end caps, the PVC parts, primered them after washing, then used Krylon Chrome in light dust coats about 2 minutes apart until completely covered.
I received my BOP builds from Richard (REL) today! MASTERPIECES!!
The quality of this kit and the builds he did for me is impressive to say the least!
I had two versions made. The first is the “re-imagined” green paint scheme, which was the first bird he showed on the boards. That one simply amazes me! The second was done in the TOS paint scheme and also amazes me in the classic style as it was meant to.
The first picture is of the TOS scheme and you’ll notice that the right nacelle endcap is missing. It had broken off during shipping and I have since glued the piece back on.
Bottom line…
Of these kits, nobody can lose! Of Richard’s builds? I am definitely honored to be one of his patrons!
I will be taking Blue and Green Screen shots of these birds hopefully over this weekend.
Thank you Richard! You are a true master of this craft sir!
LOL.. Nothing posted as of yet my fellow collecting friend. I want everything to be the way it should before a presentation is done for all to appreciate viewing the works that they have done or aspire to do. I hope to take a "Lucas" like photo by the end of the year in which I would be standing in the middle of these beautiful creations,.. just as he did in his archives. Time and the collection will tell.
As for the pics with myself in them. I feel it important to promote "realism" to the hobby in that ANYONE can be involved in any human capacity. It is the art of the hobby that is important to me that always be allowed to survive. It is the artists and the collectors that make that possible and I personaly want them all to know how much they are appreciated.
As promised, here are some shots of the two beasties.. First up… the RE-IMAGINED version…
Then,.. for all the TOS Purists out there… The TOS Paint Scheme version…
Richard REALLY did a FANTASTIC JOB with these creations! He is very much one of the top in this line of art!
Thank You again Richard!
Next Up… Richard’s (REL) Noobian Cruiser and the first “Studio 2 Foot Style Painted” RED 3. It was painted directly from pics taken of the studio model in the Lucasfilm Archives!
Also up soon will be Bob’s (Hand Solo) RED 5 and RED 2! He has shown some excellent creativity in his build of them that I know everyone will love.
