Hi everybody!
Today I want to share with you all my most recent project. I've built the turret and added a headlight so far

This variant of the famous Kröte was released a couple of moths ago with a few new pieces (like the main barrel), but the basic parts are very old and were made by Nitto several years ago, so the pieces don't fit quite easily in most cases. You have to be very careful and have a good share of patience to build it properly.
Most parts require a lot of cleaning, as the mold marks and some flashing are almost everywhere.
This kit is not for beginners, that's for sure! But the result is totally worth it.

Here you can see a Step-by-step of the turret: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhcGq57w9qA

And here you can see how I installed the lights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNSjY42ALcQ

I hope you like it. See ya!

Sergiotron,

Looking good sir !! I have a spare Kröte from the original SF3D days and was thinking about doing a conversion. Could you please tell me what the diameter is for the longest part of the barrel? I have several metal replacement barrels in 1/35th scale but I am worried they are going to be too small for a Pak Kröte.

Thanks in advance and keep up the great work !!

Thanks! It's between 5mm and 5,5mm diameter (Man, I need to get a digital caliper)

I prefer the short barrel. The long barrel always seemed cartoon-like to me, like a caricature.

RKS

I'll try to make the barrels interchangeable, and maybe add some extra bits here and there. We'll see :)

Excellent upgrade but if you care for one remark: that soldered joint looks like it might break. I could of course be interpreting the picture incorrectly but the solder doesn't seem to be fused completely but more floating on top of the brass. Would be a real shame if you had to redo it when the model is fully painted.

RKS.

Actually, I tried to break the join with no success, so I guess it's strong enough for a display piece. Thanks for your concern anyway!

Okay, I am totally hooked on your videos. Your paint and weathering tutorials are terrific as well!
Thank you!

Hey guys! Time for an update

First, I decided to use Tamiya's Surface Primer to do the cast texture in the turret and part of the body. It looks pretty good to me

Then I tried a color scheme I've been wanting since quite some time. It's based on the 2nd scheme shown in the card included

Now it's ready for the decals!

Looks great Sergiotron. I have to admit that I have never really paid much attention to this genre of models but I have to say that I am seriously considering purchasing a few based in part on your thread. What's next?

Thanks! And welcome to a larger modelling world! :D
Decals are next, and then the mandatory weathering so stay tuned :)

Wow, stunning result! Love the videos too.
