Hi. The show had a big influence on me - so I'll be building McGyver's jeep in 1/10. The donor: My long-retired Tamiya Wrangler YJ. Although I planned on giving her a proper paintjob right from day one, I held it off for ages for no apparent reason - so she was probably destined to be McGyver's jeep!
I've put on the metal loops on the hood but the mags and mirrors will have to go. I don't know if I'll be changing the chassis yet, which is not readily visible, but the wheels and tyres need to be changed. There aren't any 1/10 aftermarket ones available for the McGyver's AMG mag wheels and narrower tyres. I'll have to make those. Rear and front bumpers and the leafsprings that show up front will have to be scratched. Long ago, I enlarged the rear window to copy the newer YJ's but I don't know yet if I'll completey remove the hard top.
