Hi all,

I’m looking for some information about the Q-Boat used in the James Bond movie ‘The World is not Enough’
I have found some nice reference pictures on the DVD and the DK book The Secret World of 007, but I need more info. Plans, drawings, pictures, measurements etc.

It would be great if someone can help me out with info about this awesome machine

I just watched a special on Discovery or History Channels on the James Bond vehicles. The Boat as I recall is in the Bond Museum located in the UK?
Good luck on your search.

Thanks a lot guys :thumbsup
I just sent an Email to The Bond Museum, hope they are willing to help me out with some nice pics and measurements.

If someone has any other information about this craft, please let me know.

This is a project crying out to be done! I've always been surprised no official kit was released at the time. Surely it's as classic a Bond vehicle as the Lotus or Little Nellie.

The PROPSTORE had one hanging on their wall (the hollow version fired from the air cannon at MI5 HQ) and I believe the original shell was made by Riddle Marine. You might get some original hull specs from them?

This would be a really great project. Does anyone know if there was a base boat it was built on or was it a completely custom build from the keel up?

Well, I just received an email from the Bond Museum and they are willing/trying to help me out with some info about the boat.
I also contacted Stephen Lane at the Propstore and he sad that I am welcome to his shop to take pics and measurements, problem is, I live in the Netherlands and it’s a long swim to London :rolleyes

Still need to contact Riddle Marine, I think the Q-Boat (the hull) is a modified jetboat.

The stunt driving boat is in a private collection here in the States.

The owner takes it out occassionally as it was documented on some Bond special.

Awesome and I mean Awesome craft!!!

I wonder if an upper hull shell could be designed to fit atop a waverunner? That would certainly cut back on the cost of coming up with running gear and it would almost guarantee that it's sea-worthy.

It might be possible that there are plans/drawings of the Q-boat in the 007 Spy Files magazine, unfortunately we don’t have that magazine in my country.
Hope you guys in the UK can help me out with this.

AHA!!!!!!!

I CAN INDEED-(for once !!!)

I am friends with the guy who made the master.
The basic boat is a racing boat, v8 engine, I think from Canada.
The hull of this was then 'simply' ( I use the terms loosely) clad in custom made fiberglass shells, which he made the master patterns of.

You can ask him directly through his company

His name is Jason.
He's a very cool guy but sometimes quite busy, but I'm sure he will help out with what he can, if you ask nicely ;-)
Dan.

That’s great news Dan !, and that makes you my new best friend :D (y)thumbsup
I am going to contact Jason asap, I already sent an email to the guys at Riddle Marine, but no reply yet.

Do you know who the owner is ?

So far I’ve tracked down 3 of 6 Q-Boats (15 made for the movie, 9 boats are destroyed).
1 at the Bondmuseum. (UK)
1 at the Propstore of London. (UK)
1 at the Ian Fleming Foundation. (US)

I guess Riddle Marine and Jason (Alchemy3dc) both have 1 in their shops, I’m not sure, they haven’t send me a reply yet
