“Tales of the Gold Monkey” Golden Monkey Prop

Here is my version of the Golden Monkey idol prop from the 1980s show “Tales of the Gold Monkey”. I was recently introduced to this show and quickly took a liking to it, with it’s Indiana Jones feel and it also reminded me of a Disney cartoon show from my childhood “Tail Spin” which come to find out it was actually based on it from what I read. It’s a shame the Tales from the Gold Monkey series got cancelled and the disturbing allegations of the lead actor, but at least we got what we have with a good adventure series. This took me several hours to 3D model, and I 3D printed it in four different sections and then assembled and painted.

No sorry I don’t share files I make, I’ve had some bad experiences with that in the past and people using images of work I’ve done without permission, so that’s my policy now. I will make this available from my Etsy store soon though.

Wow. That looks sweet. If I had a bar setup at home, I'd get one to put it on the bar. I've got some antique shelves. That could work. How much are you planning to charge?

Can I ask will it be finish ready or need sanding?

3D confuses me as most of the things I bought need insane sanding, other comes smooth as can be.

Thank you! I’ll probably be making them for $400 + shipping, with the amount of prep work and sanding that goes into it, not to mention its size about 21” tall

Yeah the actual one at the end of the 2-part pilot episode was much bigger that they were inside without knowing
