    Gundam Wing

I'm always a sucker for a Gundam build and I wish you the best of luck :) I'll see if I can offer some of my limited hlep to your questions 1. However, I think finding the ball is easier said than done. I'm open to suggestions for this part as this is something I have not worked with before in...

Iron Man mark 7 modified for a back pack

Canvas or or strapping material might work for the hinges. You could also have tried just door hinges if the weight was not an issue. Either way, seeing what you made so far, makes me want to build something like that around my work bag :). Keep on, keeping on

    Samus helmet and gun build

For the tint on the visor, there are several ways to do it, I did the old cheap way, and just cut a green 2 litter bottle up and used that to color the clear face shield. (This was made from a Papercraft model and bondo Other options that I have seen used, are the same that people use when...

    My build mk6

Re: My iron man mkVI hybrid build It looks pretty good so far, you will need first put a light coat of primer on what you have bondo and then sand it smooth, add another very thin layer of bondo, coat it in a different color of primer and sand down until you start seeing your first primer...

    Iron man cardboard epoxy help!!!!!!!

Sorry, I don't know what would be a good epoxy, but what I did with my suit was coat inside and out with resin, (the same used for fiber glassing) then fiber glassed the inside of my suit, and I'm using Bondo (standard automotive grade bondo) to smooth out the outside, maybe that info can help...

Iron Man Mark VII Fiberglass build ( Darkside's 501st files)

I'm working on the same problem. I think what I will try (and this may or may not work for you) is put a hinge in the top part that goes over my shoulders from the back to the chest, and then put magnets and a strap clip on the inside of the lower chest piece to join it to the back. Basically...

    Battle Damaged Samus

Thank you, and thanks for the peps as well :). Most of the cons I go to or events are in the south (since I'm in Alabama) but I would love to see your suit in person as well. One question I'm trying to remember, did you create something to set the shoulder bells on that sat on top of your...

    Battle Damaged Samus

I'm actually working a Samus armour for my wife as well, I went the pep, resign, bondo, and sanding route with the helemt. The rest of the suit I'm using EVA foam or foam floor mats like I can get a Harbor Freights for cheap. I've built the arm cannon and one should out of foam and they turned...

    Mark 42 Cardboard Build

It looks like you may need to curve the front part of the face plate to make it line up with the helmet pieces. I do the same thing when building my helmets, make the face plate curve and line up with the reset of the helmet it gives it a better look instead of it just being flat faced.

    JFcustom's FOAM files

You can use Foam files to make a card stock template for plastic, just keep in mind the foam files are designed to work with a thicker medium than thin plastic or paper. The paper unfolds maybe easier to use if your working with a plastic though, just turn off the tabs when you print them out.

War Machine Mk 1 Build! (How will it all hold together?!)

Here's a pic of my Ironman suit, the first time building anything like this, and I had a hell of a time, but I learned alot. The warmachine I ran into at the con and we hung out the rest of the night having a blast :)

War Machine Mk 1 Build! (How will it all hold together?!)

On my previous Ironman foam suit, I linked the shins to the thigh pieces and that keep everything in line, Whenever I tried linking the thighs to the cod piece I keep braking the straps. All though if you have a bad problem of them staying up, you may try running straps from the top of the...

NOOb father looking for help getting started.

Yes, Cardstock to print your patterns out on and then I would suggest using foam as your medium to build in (transfer the patterns that you print out and trace them onto card stock) these are the ones I used when I made my first Ironman suit (the kind from Harbor freights ) They are perfect...

Simple and Super easy Iron Man repulsor glove light system! :)

Very cool, I may end up doing this for my new suit as well, easier to control the power and less wiring that I'll have to do. Thank you.
