    Two part Ultra-Cal mold help

I'm casting hand prosthetic for my shoot this weekend and wanted to know the best method for casting them. They're to be gloves that go over the actress' hands and the sculpts are 8" tall x 5.5" wide; there are two methods I've seen and wanted to know the best for my project. I prefer the...

Question about foam latex and casting

I'm shooting a short horror film and I only need to make hands for the creature. The idea was to cast the actress' forearm (up to the elbow) using Alja-Safe and Smooth Cast 300Q, then using clay I'd create the creature's forearms in clay over her hands and then cast that in foam latex to make a...

    Big, Practical Horns

Alright so I have a wire base, foil and wrapped it in masking tape. I'm thinking of sealing it before painting WITHOUT the paper mache, should I just paper mache the thing or can I forgo it? Some pics of the process. Im adding spine ridges to them so they're not so...bland. Luckily I have a lot...

    Big, Practical Horns

What would be a good glue? I'm concerned with it staying on due to weight, that's really the main issue as I'd have no real way to hide support with short hair...Thanks guys and gals.

    Big, Practical Horns

For Halloween I wanted to rock horns for the evening and to work, but not the short stubby ones they sell, something akin to Dan Radcliffe's in Horns or bigger. The issue is I have short hair and I do want to have them appearing to break through the skin...any idea what techniques and materials...

Keeping organic elements on The Last of Us costume

Hey, I was supposed to go as a Clicker from The Last of Us but my head was destroyed, now I'm just going as a normal infected enemy, I have some mushrooms I wanted to incorporate since I couldnt find fake ones. What's a good way to keep them from falling apart during the day? I was going to coat...

the Koon ( from southpark not a racial slur)

I saw The **** at The New York Comic Con and got his picture. It was disconcerting being black in a sea of white people shouting for The **** to turn around...disconcerting but oddly still funny.

Any electrical gurus in the place?

Hey guys, I was working on a costume for Halloween, but it wasn't working out so I scrapped it. I figured I'd do some futuristic-thingy-do with a light-up sword made from PVC a 3-foot halogen bulb and wiring. I was wondering if anyone knew what electrical parts I'd need to power a 3ft halogen...

    Marvel Universe

Nothing wrong with it not being popular. I tried to convince my friend to do the Rocketeer one year and he didn't feel anyone would get it and so didn't do it. I think so long as the costume is well done and interesting, whether people 'get it' or not, it'll be a cool costume to everyone around...

Arkham Red Hood (Jason Todd) Variant WIP

Dude, that's cool, get 'em when you can. My friend just moved into an apartment that had bed bugs all over the place. Some things just happen.

Any one else bulking up/changing how they look for halloween?

Since my birthday is Halloween I always do elaborate costumes, however being heavy I never do established works (with the exception of last years Ghostbuster). I've been trying to lose weight for this years costume. Aiming to be A LOT smaller for next year and my Galactus costume.
