Bumping up this very old (but still very relevant) thread... I've recently gotten the Hopper Bug. Season 1 police uniform specifically, with a side-quest for the Season 3 "cosplaying as Magnum PI" outfit.
Much of the stuff Travis posted earlier in this thread is mine now.
The one item that is...
What is the texture of the fabric? I'm guessing at this price point it wouldn't be mesh over something, but will it have a similar rough sort of texture? I'm interested either way but that would be really awesome.
This is an older thread but I wanted to bump it with an update. I just ordered one from Bob / fiberglassmasks.com today. The "discontinued" lineage masks are still available upon request. I'll add pics here once I get mine.
propmaster2000 if you are looking for a small detail printer, I recommend checking out SLA printers. I use a Formlabs Form2 but there are much more reasonably priced ones out there now. I use the big FDM printers for large parts and the SLA for high detail.
oooh! I modeled up the base tube here, but haven't ever had access to a real one for measurements so it's purely eyeballed:

I'll update that hole dimension. If you could spare some additional time with a ruler/calipers I could probably improve...
I just finished up printing this file: https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/hobby-diy/other/wearable-scout-trooper-helmet-by-*****-salmeron-3d-print-model
Very happy with the results, including flip up lid and snap together assembly.
$40 may seem high in the world of thingiverse free...
I was surprised that there wasn't a whole section dedicated to this!
I've got 3 printers running at present:
- Formlabs Form2 SLA printer
- Folgertech FT-5 FDM printer
- Folgertech 2020 i3 printer that I've rebuilt to be bigger/better/faster :)
Things I've printed so far:

I made the replica sorts out of 1/8" styrene. The real swords are super cheesy to begin with. They are basically just flat steel bars with some areas cut out. I took one of the real ones, traced it, and made 2 plastic ones.
The real ones were like $25 a pair, so I pretty much just bought them...
The vacuum would be my guess... I used to use a shop vac based system and you really had to get a PERFECT seal while the plastic was super soft. Even assuming a good seal, I wouldn't expect it to have the power to get the plastic down into all those recesses.
Bumping this up as it's something I've been thinking a lot about.
What if we start tagging our stuff on Thingiverse "the_rpf" or similar? That way we could find stuff that might be on the higher end of decent.
I'm a beginner at model making, but have a few reasonable things in my profile (see...
