id still prime it first with etch primer

i think it comes down to roughing it up a little prior to painting and then using a good etch primer. don't go cheap on your paint's and instead of using different grades of sand paper start with your high and keep it wet and be very patient. i wrapped a very worn piece of sandpaper around it...

i have done up some quick lines in paint to point out and it is clear as day. here are two other members sabers, nicksdad's picture of what it should be like and two pics of my saber pointing out the difference

ok so iv been working on some other things but noticed now as iv worked on my saber that the section before the black painted grip starts between the control box and grip is close to 5mm long were every one else's going off the images seem to be about 2mm, i also have a deep full circle gouged...

what colour black paint would be screen accurate?
