I am looking for hi rez images of the Connor MacLeod katana handle, does anyone know where I can find them? I have googled with very mixed non consistent results. a 3d file of the handle would be even better.

Have you considered grinding up cow, deer, etc bone into a powder then mixing it with resin? you could get pretty close to a bone handle in look and feel. it would be pretty durable too.

my thoughts were you would make a mold of the entire ring to cast. make the metal part of the ring and put it in the mold then inject the green resin to fill out the emerald parts. sort of like a steel belted tire. it would look nice and be durable.
one thing you could do to simulate the black in the resin is to first make black resin lay it out very flat, let it harden then break it up into small pieces then put those chips in the green resin. just my 2 cents worth
