Paint Burnt Umber in the 10mm, gap and in any cuts etc. the segments are then dry brushed with brown, green and yellow acrylic paint for the highlight
Undercoat the shell with a mixture of whit green and yellow acrylic paint.

Cover the entire body with newspaper pieces and a 2:1 pva:water mix and let that dry overnight.

On a new piece of card, draw around the body of the shell, marking out the shell edge and strap holes
