Illyria Costume

My friend Emily custom made me one a number of years ago and it's still one of my favorite costumes to wear! Here's the progress steps she put up on her old website:

These photos were taken at Dragon*Con last year:

I can try to answer any questions you have. :) Good luck!

Buffybabe-
My advice to you is to go the extra distance and get the contact lenses. Most people don't believe it but contacts CAN make or break a Buffy Costume.
Take a look here and if they don't already have some 14mm lenses that will work for you then send them a screen cap and they will make em up special for no extra fee:

good luck and definitely post pics when you are done!

i can give you some tips on the make up if you like i know the make up artist that worked on the show this is my girlfriend who i made up as illiria for a costume contest.

Now THAT is what I'm talking about!
Not only is this make-up exceptional but the contacts absolutely pull the whole thing together and sell it...great work.

Kim has blue eyes already, but usually wears another set of (a different) blue contacts with her Illyria costume. Her prescription is too strong to get a set of the accurate type of lenses used on the show, so she has to make do with what her eye doctor allows her to get.

Well, no offense to Kim, but her costume and overall look really suffers without the contact lenses.
Her photo's make a decent reference for the costume though.

I really glad everyone is so complimentary of Kim's costume.
Maybe she should start a thread of her own rather than high-jacking someone else's?

I like the photo links Kimmy posted so buffybabe can look them over for ideas for her own costume. I bet she's got some great advice for her too.

buffybabe, looking forward to seeing your progress.
