Just started planning and sourcing materials for my CW Flash project (Unbeknownst to my fiancé - She'd kill me.)
Planning to start off with a morphsuit base, separate it into Torso, lower body and gloves, then apply faux leather for the material on the torso.
Stealing an idea from Irongreymon to use Tulip slick paint to create the material effect seen on the show's suit.
I'm working off a very tight budget (Paying for a wedding, with the possibility of a little one on the way next year), and with very limited free time due to teaching, so I'll call it an extended project.
Research
I need to obtain some high quality images of the back of the suit, but I think I've got every angle I need for the front.
Given that I'm building the suit up around a morphsuit, I'm not too fussed in regards to templates for the shape. I know ad-lib might not be the best way to approach this, but I'll take my chances.
Budget
Given that I have no money, and possibly less come next year, this has to fit within a VERY tight budget.
I've currently got all the materials I need, aside from the faux leather, available for £118.18, which includes the sewing machine if my fiancé doesn't have one hidden away.
I've managed to source a supplier of faux leather in the style I want for £21.99 a meter, but I need to work out how much material I'll need for what I am planning to do.
I'll update the thread as I go, though I doubt there'll be massive progress to report for a while yet.
