Hi all
im new to prop building but im attempting a childhood dream of building my own Han solo in carbonite!!!!!
ive done loads of research on here and online, heres some pics of the progress,
HOPE YOU LIKE IT !!!!!
first ive used aganite to for the hand molds then cast them in plaster of Paris !!!
Next is the side panels !!!
i used lino vinyl flooring as its 3mm thick !!!
i then glued to a piece of insulation (kingspan) it cuts and sands real easy !!!
it took me ages measuring and cutting all the ting parts !!!
i used layers and layers of latex to make a mold as i need 8x of these panels !!!
i brushed the panel with talc powder before painting the latex on !
the mold came out ok, but just wasn't stable enough to hold liquid to cast anything !!!
so in the bin with that !!!
i then made another 7 more panels with vinyl and kingspan !!!!! hours and hours of measuring and cutting and gluing !!!!
next i went through my garage and got lots of bits and bobs, i think you call then greeblies on here ?
i just glued them on to the panels with reference from online !!!
i gave them a few coats of grey undercoat primer !!!
i carved a rough shape of the body from kingspan!!! lots of measuring and sanding !!!
yes i bought the face/head online, i cant mold that to look that good !!!
i used one of my old shirts and then mixed some uni-bond PVA glue to soak the shirt and drape over the body carving and formed the creases to match from pics online !!!
long slow process !!! just when you get one crease right you do the next one and mess up the last crease !!!
i did the same process with the trousers !!!
