Hello,

a while ago I made a fast Prototype of the 8th Doctors Screwdriver, now Im making the accurate detailed one.

Trough some contacts I got to get the original measurements and detailed pictures,
with that said, this Dark Eyes Sonic will be the most accurate replica made.

I started with a 3D Model and while doing that I was thinking allot about the build process and how to do everything.

Once I got the Idea I started with the bottom:

These are 7 individual parts wich I put on a 10mm threaded rod. This rod can be chucked in a Powerdrill and then sanded easily!

Up next is the middle part wich holds the woodsticks (its called Wood_B*tch_V3_finally_final.stl)

And the parts are designed to connect

Fits perfect

Very interesting. How reliable are your measurements this time around? Would like to see more build pictures as you continue.

They are pretty reliable :D
I got the measurements from the original prop and also detailed pictures.

Looks like it's nearly all metal - very nice.
Do you have some 3D printed parts - or is everything sourced off the shelf.
Good luck with this build.

Most of it is 3D Printed.

You could do that on a metal-lathe, but I´m not experienced enough on the machine.
I 3D printed the parts with a 10mm hole in the middle so I can put everything on a M10 Rod,
then I can put it in a drill and sand it while it spins around :D

Im reworking some of the parts to make better and more efficient molds.

My goal is to have at least 5 of these tripple-molds for each part.
So I can produce 15 of one part at once.

The Moldboxes are thin 3D Prints
