The kit comes with both stickers and decals.
I was thinking the same thing, until I saw the photos in this link:...On the close up pictures, some of the panel lines look slightly large, but they're also highlighted in pretty dark paint. A subtle wash should keep them better in scale.
The TIE looks great, but the more that I look at the X-wing the less I like it. It seems like panel lines are exaggerated and the panel warts have rounded edges like they've been sanded too much. Some of the warts don't appear to be the right size. The engine nozzles appear to be a little to long. Overall it feels cartoonish to me. There are some things that are obviously done correctly, mostly proportional stuff like the size and shape of the wings to fuselage. Still not sure about this.

Keep in mind the product images that are fully built are a 3D prototype and may not be fully representative of the final model. I'll have the model on hand in about a week, and I can do an open box review unless someone else gets theirs first and does one.
