small update
Brass eyes might get here by February. Awaiting their completion. I already ripped the resin eyes when trying to cut free excess resin. so, this is a must.
I think I'm also going to get a set of full display feet. The resin ones are kind of flimsy, sonot sure how well they'd hold up the costume once golden.
Oh, and we also moved up 4 spaces on the wait list. I'm HOPING at this rate, I can have the torso in my hand by April. That'll be even more parts I can sent off to get golden.

Look what came in the mail today
.My Metal eyes and antenna have shipped. I'll probably eventually get a display head down the line.
still waiting on the torso shipping, but getting closer. If some of these vac companies would get b ack to me, I can figure out a plan for chroming.

I am now second person in line for my torso to ship.
The frustrating thing about 3P0 building is the zero communication. That, and when you put in new orders, your orders arn't combined with the original order. I am now second person in line for torso shipping, but my order for arms, and legs is way down the bottom ten people away. that could take another 8 months or more to get to me. It's not really a fair way to do it if you have to save money to order parts.
So far, only one vacume metalizing company has gotten back to me. If I don't hear from the other place, I will give them a try.

We got an update from the chroming people. C3P0's head should be started and hopefully done next week. If I am real lucky, it will be shipped back out too.
so maybe by middle of june, I'll have a completed head at least.
Also, we are next in line for Torso to be shipped, finally! almost a year ago we placed the order. I'll be real nervous shipping those parts out

The head is ready. yay! If I'm real lucky it could be here tommorow.. most likely early next week.

torso has shipped... after one year +month. ironic I Was also watching Field of Dreams. ;o)

intuition was right....
the head came back a little deformed. I guess whatever process they use to hold it clenches it a bit. It's nothing jarring, but it doesn't fit as easily as it once did. I broke off one of the tabs accidentally while packaging it, so I will have to reglue that one back on. Either way, I think I am doing two heads now. I saw a photo of one in an glass container that rotated back and forth and had pre programed voices on it. I may make this one like that for travel purposes, and do a second one for the costume.
but on the whole, it didn't turn out that bad.

gluing in the eye lights, because they keep on falling out. Also, the other problem with this chroming paint is that it chips off on occasion. have to be real careful with it..

About all I can do now is take pictures, dream, and hope my other stuff ships on november/ december if the schedule stays true for about a year wait.
I guess no one know show the shorts go togther, huh?
I'm also curious how long the final costume either takes to put on, and how many screws are needed to seal the thing up for wearing...
