50's Greaser Batman Concept

Attempted to do the goggles tonight but failed horribly I really hate cuved lenses almost so fed up i might go buy a night shade rattle to do it lol

on a side note my brother completed his scarecrow which he will be bringing to dragoncon with me. Everything comes together in the end:)

update got the fins on, went ahead and just used leather glue :3
I decided to place the fins right on the center of the flare. the left was a bit ****** during the cure process which hurt the angle of the fins slightly but I think in terms of making the coat look good it works.

goggle len's are going to be boil dyed instead of tinting film. Im tired of the bubbles lens not heat shrinking right.
 
so bad news I tried to tint the lenses but they ended up hazing and scratching due to the heat so first off they ended up like this. the dye didnt even take just kind of yellow'd them

so a headlight restorer kit and 3 hours later I got it back to this

then I applied a layer of night shade which I should have done from the beginging

the visibility was excellent, I went to sleep the temp dropped down in to the high 40s last night and I woke up to this

FML!!!! Now I have to go out buy some thin plexi glass to cut up and blast it with some night shade, the only reason why this is a pain is because I live in alaska, and we dont get jack squat. updates soon, If I can get a clear enough plexiglass, cut, paint and buff. then Im done
 
Negative ghost rider, I went to all the big box stores and none had acrylic sheets tinted, plus the thickness was .93 and I was Looking for something in ballpark of .50 or less, my friend jasmine has some sheet with the thickness I need so in going to use hers. Talk about home stretch but being cock blocked. Updates soon
 
so good news bad news, the acryllic did not take to the night shade lol

so then after a few more tries I figured why not try the boil dye method again at this point i had no other options and results.

so goggles are finally done!! I cant believe finally the dye method worked and I didn't change one variable from the last time I attempted it. now just need to wrap this project up and begin packing it :lol
